The lights are on
when windows 7 comes out will PC games all start to recommend windows 7 (work with windows 7). Also will it work with older games such as Assassin's Creed, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and other games
Old games work just fine. I've been using Windows 7 for a few months now and I have had absolutely no problems installing and running current games and games all the way back to Windows 95. You'll be fine.

ty. I was just thinking about getting windows 7 and wanted to know these things, but will windows 7 help the game go faster or better graphics and that junk? Thanks again!
Well, it seems to me that thinks run faster....but better graphics depends on your graphics card, not Windows, necessarily.
Windows 7 still does not run as fast as XP but it does allow for better optimization of the ram that you have as well as DirectX11. There may be some comparability issues but these are rare and it will most likely be fixed with the service packs after release.
BTW: You can get Windows 7 for 29.99 DL or a little more on disk at http://www.win741.com/
I've had Windows 7 since December 2008 and it works just fine with all games, programs, and even drivers that are meant for Windows Vista. It even works perfectly with some older games, like Half-Life 2 (even Half-Life 1 works fine). And it now works with Punkbuster perfectly. You'll also get Direct X 11 in Windows 7, which is already used in BattleForge, and it will also be used in Crysis 2, Race Driver: GRID 2, STALKER: Call of Pripyat, and even Lord of the Rings online.
I have been using the retail version for awhile since I have MSDN access and so far no major issues. Updates are coming steadily and it boots pretty quick on my system. Seems like the perfect blend between XP and Vista.
I have to wait till October to use this.
I've had no problems running games on Windows 7 x64 since the RTM was released. I've run UT3, MLB 2K9, The Withcher, GTA IV, HL2, Devil May Cry 4 and a few others with no issues, so far.
I liked Vista for what it was but if you didn't have the hardware it just wasn't worth it. With Windows 7 it runs fine on my laptop with a Celeron CPU @1.7Ghz and 2GB RAM.
