I've built every one of my rigs since I was 12... 20 years ago. My first one was an intel 33SX in an Easy Data 316 case on a DFI MB.... and before I went to ASUS I used Soyo during their Dragon series.

I bought a Dell XPS 435MT a while back as it was under $500 shipped. I slapped in a 550w power supply, and an ATI 4890 and it plays anything i throw at it. Not the flashiest PC I've ever owned, but it will do until I figure out what I want to build next.....

Everything looks nice and clean inside the case thanks to cable ties and plenty of room to hide cables. I tacked on an extra 120mm to the side to add some extra cooling and airflow (so far its pretty quiet). I've got two red cold cathode lights in there to show off a bit. It's nothing too fancy, but it plays all the games I want it too on the highest setting (minus Crysis of course). I'll post pics soon.

Do you really find it worth the price for all that stuff? I never try to spend above $1000 for I figure that any computer will be obsolete in 4 years after purchasing it anyway. I heard in 2011, they're supposed to release 128-bit computers with Windows 8, and I'm not joking there.

TBH no, right now it isn't really worth the price for my system. I only occasionally use the computing power when doing HD graphics recording. Think about it though, with the 128 bit cpus, 64 Bit isn't even the standard yet (though soon it will be) so I'll still be in the game for a long time. Windows 8 may have 128-bit support, but it won't be the standard. Right now though, there isn't memory that will allow you to even fully utilize a 128-bit proccessor. So I know I'll be good for a long time. I figured I'd go all out instead of having to spend another 500 every 3 years to be able too keep up with max capabilities for gaming. I had the money to do it (thank you Obama for the "Education" credit lol), so I did! You want pics?

A lot for a laptop, yes, but as I said, I wanted a TOY.  The battery only keeps the system charged at normal function for an hour.  The system has a Stealth Mode that disables the video cards and throttles back the processor, but it doesn't add much more time to the battery life.  The most resource intense software I've run on it thus far is Portal (which isn't really that tough an app to run), but it runs seamlessly at 90 fps with all the settings maxed, so I'm happy.
