The lights are on
Wondering if anyone has experience with a keyboard using cherry mx brown switches? I am looking to finally take the jump and get a mechanical keyboard. I have experience using cherry reds like what are used on Razer products. While I like them I think if you could cut out 50% of their click noise they would be amazing.
Any who did some research and found this keyboard which seems amazing, other than it is using browns and I have no experience with them.
Seeing as they are a new company I am guessing no one on the site has used this keyboard yet, so I am just hoping someone has a keyboard with the same keys. So far reviews seem very promising but $150 is a bit much of a jump without knowing. From what I have read the browns make less noise than reds but they also have less of that feed back bump on press.
So anyone have any experience with this?

My experience is limited to Red switches as well, with my Corsair K60. Though I am thinking along the exact same lines as you, i.e. wishing they were a bit quieter..

Logitech is about to release or have released a full mechanical using Cherry mx Browns. I think it's called the G710+. Explanation of Cherry Browns http://youtu.be/HXPwLDt0gHU?t=1m20s

Looks like the logitech is available. I am not a huge fan of it. Doesnt seem bad but I think the Max looks to be of better quality. I will miss the volume rocker on my keyboard but I can live with that.
I am also more and more leaning towards the cherry browns. I dont see any downside to removing some of the extra noise as long as I still get the tactile response. I just wish I had some place locally I could try the keyboard before I take the jump.
I was also looking here on the Max page.
looks like I could easily swap out the WASD keys with reds, blues or black for around $10 per set (may be able to do that on all mechanicals). Thought it may be odd typing having those 4 keys with a different response.
Not sure if anyone else is considering this but I held out. Well they are doing a better than expected Black Friday deal, they nocked $44 of of the base price for the model I was looking at. That bring it into my price range where I am willing to take the jump.
I may post some sort of review when I get it in a few days. Depends on if I think people will care.
Palor, I am looking to upgrade my keyboard in the near future. Did you end up getting the Max keyboard with the Cherry Browns? Curious to know if it's worth your endorsement. If not, what mechanical keyboard would you recommend? I'm currently looking at the Corsair K70 when it comes available.
I did get it and I like it very much. Now that I am comfortable with the brown switches I love them. Unlike the reds the little bubble/roll just before activation is almost non existent. So the resistance of a key press is very uniform. They are a bit less noisy then reds also but to tell you literally need to have them next to each other.
As for the rest of the keyboard it is amazingly well made. It is durable and has a heft to it without being heavy. I like the mostly simplistic nature of it as on my old keyboard I really never used any of the macro keys and if I did it was just to play around a bit. The one thing that did throw me off however was the overall size of the keyboard. Coming from a G17 keyboard it is about 5 inches shorter in length. It is also a bit narrower since it does not have a built in wrist rest (it comes with a separate gel rest). It took me about 48 hours to get comfortable with the smaller size even though the actual key part of the keyboard is the same size. Really the only thing I wish it had was the volume roller and the media keys in the upper right hand corner like the G17 did. But yes I would highly recommend the keyboard, or a variation on it depending on the switches you want.
You could say that again. And I will concern about it.
