The lights are on
Earlier this week, we learned more details in a 200 word news story about the Wii U than we did from Nintendo after hours and hours of press conferences over the past year.
I have read a lot of reaction from people around the world wide web, and even a bit here in the tiny town I live in, so people are talking, but what they are saying varies wildly. So, I call on you, me fellow GIOers, to answer this question. Will you be purchasing a Wii U, and if so, in what timeframe?
What launch title are you most excited about? And if you are leaning toward no, what could Nintendo do to make you change your mind?
Two models announced--
300 dollar white wii, with just the basics and a 8GB hard drive
350 dollar model, with Nintendo Land, Black in color, stand for controller and console, 32 GB hard drive.
Either way, something tells me there will be a hefty price tag on the extra storage that many people may eventually need, but of the two, I would say the $350 bundle is by far the better value.
The Wii U launches on November 18th, with as many as 50 launch window titles(which is apparently about a 5-6 month window).
Please select which option best meets your current mindset regarding the Wii U.

I heard the waterboy reading my choice...Lol

I tend to buy my systems later in the life cycle. Normally the system has had a price drop and I can buy games cheaply. So I'll get one eventually.
I'll be getting mine sometime in january, february, or march. I say that because I plan to buy it with christmas and birthday money (my birthday is february 21st) And I'm getting the base set. Why? Because I feel I don't need the deluxe stuff and that money could go towards New super mario bros. U, pikmin 3, or game & wario.
Game I am currently waiting for: New super mario bros. U
I'll be getting one when it gets to my spot on the hold list at the local gamestop, the 32 gb version of course, I finally decided to get one soon after the launch when nintendo announced the reward bonus for purchases in the wii u digital store
There is nothing enticing for me about the Wii U. I bought a launch 360, and so have been gaming in this gen since its start. If someone is a holdout who still hasn't bought a console this gen, then I can understand it. But I'm looking forward to the next generation.
I've no interest in a console that extends the current gen, as I've already been gaming in it for 7 yrs. Same reason I didn't buy a Wii.
How is the Wii U at all close to current generation gaming???
Wait... what? So just because the graphics are 2% better than 360 and PS3, that makes it next-gen?
It doesn't matter if the Wii U is 2% less powerful than the Super Nintendo. Next gen is next gen.
I'm not sure what you mean. I'm not going by my own opinion of what is next-gen. What constitutes a new console generation is a significant step forward in technology, producing games that weren't possible on a technical level in the previous generation.
A console being released near the end of a generation that has slightly better graphics than machines that are 6 & 7 yrs old does not mean the next generation has arrived. The PS3 was released a year after the 360. So, would you say that PS3 is a new generation? Of course not.
Nintendo did the same thing last gen, releasing a console with GameCube graphics and a motion controller... except that they waited until last gen was over to release a last gen console. I will say that it is a new generation for Nintendo. Since, y'know, they're new to the whole HD gaming thing.
I'm not sure you know what "generation" means, so here: www.google.com/search
Um... yeah. That link is a definition for human generations, and has nothing to do with console generations.
Unless... wait, are you saying Shigeru and Reggie got nasty and Wii U is their love child?!
In the link YOU JUST POSTED it lists the Wii U in the Eighth generation. Thanks for proving my point.
Yep, sure does, along with 3DS and Vita. What it does not say is that the next console generation starts with Wii U. Since you like links so much, here are some more:

Is the Wii U really a next-gen game console?
Have fun with the clickin' and readin'! And... did you think I was trying to insult you? I was just joking, dude! I am fully aware that Shigeru and Reggie would have to adopt. :P
Links unrelated. Opinions aren't facts. Wii U is next gen. It came after the Wii. It's being released in the time of the next generation of gaming systems which has already started. DEAL WITH IT.
