The lights are on
I got to thinking about this after hearing a few people talk about how WiiU should drop an HD remake of Starfox. The more I think about it the more I don't know how it would work. The game is a very simple game, polygons and flashing colors that you shoot on rails the entire time. If you just make updated HD basic shapes the whole game would look outdated and very simple. Yet if you make all the polygon monsters in to more life like beasts with blood and detailed upgradeable fighters that are free to fly wherever than on rails then you don't even really have a starfox game. I just think it might be something to skip over.
That's true. I think that if they DO make an HD Remake of a Starfox game, it won't be that one. I don't think people really meant that game in specific though. Only time will tell what they do with Starfox from here.
Didn't they do a direct remake of Starfox 64 for the 3ds? I believe it was actually fairly well received also. So it may turn out better than you would think. At the same time I am not sure people want so much a direct remake, but more a return to space combat for Fox. The last few games he has been in have not been arcady flight shooters. I think outside of the 3ds remake all Starfox games since the N64 have incorporated platforming, melee combat and some sort of on foot exploration. For me I dont want that, just give me the flying, and maybe tank driving.

StarFox 64 was a remake of the original StarFox. The stories are almost identical with the exception that it was more fleshed-out in StarFox 64.
Actually playing the games reveals this.
They need to stop with the remastered or ports or whatever and just make a new game. If they don't want to make a new game then forget it.
I agree, a reboot would do WAY better than a remastered Star Fox. Plus the only one that was REALLY liked was 64, and they already remastered that one.
that would be great.
I agree with the reboot idea over a remastering. As it's been said, Starfox 64 3D has already been done, so a Starfox 64 Wii U remake would just be silly. Give us a new story, Nintendo. They had the right idea with Starfox Command, in my opinion...it just went all haywire with the multiple endings bullcrap.
