  • I think that Game Informer is doing good for the amount of gaming buzz thats out there today.  Think about it, how many rumors go around that have so much potential to be true?  Too much if you ask me.  I think given a month to sort out whats really true alongside producing adequate gaming ratings, observing market trends in gaming its a pretty decent job that they do.  Now I have my own opinions about what I think a good game is and what games should be like, but I make up only one small part of the market alone.  Like the scion commercial "what makes us different brings us together." It would be totally biased to run articles on just RPG's or survival horror games.  Game Informer tries to avoid this on a monthly basis.  Game producing firms decide when a game comes out and we are at their mercy.  2010 looks promising with Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno, Heavy Rain, etc.  Just because they may all steal spotlight from other great games does not take away from that one aspect-if a game is good then the column space it gets doesn't matter. In the last issue with 200 games mentioned brevity is a good thing!  I dont think I would've like to have paid extra postage for a 300 page tome for games I already know kicked butt. Keep posting your thoughts cuz I'm gonna!

  • Another outraged Pokemon fan...

GI doesn't give these Pokemon games any previews because, after all, what is there to talk about? It's just the same game, with the same gameplay, being released over and over again. They just add new Pokemon and upgrade the graphics.

As for reviews, GI usually waits for the compilation version of the game to review it. EXAMPLE: Instead of reviewing both Diamond and Pearl, they waited and reviewed Platinum.

  • wow! such passionate responses! everyone, I dont want a 5 page spread on pokemon LOL I know how people feel about it now that it has been around for ever but im saying the name of this magazine is the GAME INFORMER. I was disappointed that they couldnt make a tiny side note, even just one line, hey everyone, pokemon is remaking gold and silver with the original starters. I look at the GI as something that tells me about games before anyone else, but if they dont talk about it till it hits shelves all it really is is a game stop propaganda magazine. I also feel like a lot of you are just dumping on pokemon, i dont care if you dont like it i most likely dont like your favorite games but thats why game informer talks about them all. Last thing, the slave trading, hahahaha its totally slave trading and i have a friend that makes fun of me and says thats the only kinds of games I like but hey, its a video game, im not hurting anyone :)

  • There's a full page preview based on our hands on with the Japanese version in the January issue.

  • sweeeeeet

  • See...this is why quality third party games are so far and few on Nintendo systems, it's because you guys just want the same franchises over and over and over again.  If you really want to support Nintendo, instead of sitting around waiting for a game that you've already played a hundred times why not take notice on some of the great third party titles?  They are out there.

  • For some weird (stupid) reason, Game Informer doesn't cover games on Nintendo systems as well as other publications and websites.

In fact, you could say it borderlines ignores them.

  • @ Reiner: Awesome, can't wait to see if they recapture the magic of the 2nd gen.

@ William: For the most part, games on Nintendo systems simply don't deserve to be covered as thoroughly as other games. And they cover the big ones, like new Mario and Zelda games, quite thoroughly.

There is also the fact that if there is big news about a Nintendo game, it will almost definitely be given to Nintendo Power first. So it's probably harder for GI to get previews and such of big games from Nintendo when they're still relevant.

  • It just got a preveiw in issue 201 chill out dude.

  • What is it with you people in Pokemon!? There are better things to complain about in the gaming industry!

  • yea these responses r a little too passionate. be thankful that gi is letting  U keep ure subscriptionif U dont want to read than dont read!!!

  • Hey, um, ever think there hasn't been any news on it? Genius.

P.S. If your not happy with the magazine, your not needed here. Go subscribe to a pokemon mag.

  • GI is great. My first magazine ever, and I can't ever put it down.

    @William

Someone asked a question about why GI doesn't do that much Nintendo stuff in the mag, like cover stories. The reason is because they said Nintendo, out of all the Big 3, is the hardest to contact. Maybe that's why the Wii is declining slowly.

  • Haha Just kidding bro had you going there for a second, though, right?
