Modding is best done only if you have two 360s. One for modding and another for use on XBL. Don't EVER plug a modded 360 up to the internet, as you will be banned.

That said, I can't help you with modding, because I myself have never done it. Although I do have a friend who has done it, and he's saved probbably over $1000 by now because of downloading and torrenting games. He got Borderlands two days before it released, ODST, COD4, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Oblivion GOTY, and several other games. If I had a modded 360 laying around you can bet that I'd be modding.

@Perfect VipeR Some people call that stealing, and 'waisting' that 60 bucks means some one that put a few years of work into something isn't getting all the money they should have gotten. I hope you get banned from live soon if you haven't yet.

modding right now is the dumbest thing you could do. They are doing a wave of console ban IDs. I know a good 10-15 people that have had their gamertags and console IDs permanently banned.

The point of modding your xbox 360 is to get free games, right? It is very efficient due to the fact that you save so much money. However, there is a problem. Microsoft is on a banning spree atm. So modding right now is no bueno. Sry man...

Getting your xbox360 modded is not a bad idea right now. I got mines modded to save MONEY so I dont waste 60bucks. If you have loads of cash then dont waste your time but if you get pissed because you paid 60bucks for a game that just isnt fun after the first two weeks, you should modd up.

A good example of 60bucks wasted: Halo3 ODST, Streetfighter4 nuff said.
