Nothing will ever beat MW1

For me, it's a tie between MW2 and MW3. I like MW3's weapon balance/killstreaks, but I miss MW2's maps and shotguns.

CoD4 might be the original, but you have to give it to Modern Warfare 2. It had the better campaign of the three, was the first to do Spec Ops, and the multiplayer is the most iconic.

Granted, MW2 was the first CoD I played from beginning to end (I worked my way backward through the series before Black Ops and MW3) so I'll always have a bias to it as my favorite. Still, it's my favorite for good reason: MW2 is possibly the best first-person shooter ever made.

MW3 = $60 MW2 expansion pack with little innovation or change, and an option to get bent over for an extra $50/yr.

Still not bad for multiplayer, but I should have held off to buy it.

i tried all 3 mw and i hated the 1st and 2nd. i love the third, thats my opinion though

I like MW3 best; campaign, Spec Ops, and multiplayer are all at their best in my opinion. This Modern Warfare actually got me playing online, while the previous 2 games' multiplayer seemed boring to me. Don't know why.

Modern Warfare had the best campaign of the games, but Modern Warfare 3 had the best multiplayer and the Spec Ops was a lot of fun as well. Modern Warfare 2 was my least favorite by far.
