So, I came across the website MadModz.com which claim themselves to be "modded controller enthusiasts" and specialize in customized/colored Xbox 360 controllers. Basically it's the outer shell that has been painted, or if you wanna go way out there, you can change the color of your Xbox guide buttons, XYAB buttons, etc. I've searched around trying to find any reviews to see just how good of a quality these 'shells' really are since some have said they 'look cheap', but haven’t actually bought any for themselves to make sure.
I'd like to hear some other opinions, or better yet, if anyone has bought one of these colored controllers what your thoughts are on the products. How strong/solid they feel and quality of the paint because honestly if my best bet is to go out and buy a can of spray paint and blast it away at my poor controller then I'm all for it. Also, is tearing apart my controller for a new colored skin really worth it and how hard is it to do, are there any special tools required, etc. etc.
Yes, maybe I have more important things to worry about than changing the color of my controller, but I'm a girl, they have purple controllers.... enough said. lol
I just want to give this thread a bump. i have similar concerns to those of ZOMBIEROTICA. When we would paint our rifles with Krylon, they would get this odd sticky feeling and the sweat/oils from your skin would wear through the paint in a couple of days. I'm worried this would end up in a similar fashion.

@ Noobtubin8er - I was wondering how the Krylon paint was with the controllers. That was going to be Option 2 if the MadModz shells didn't have any good reviews. So thanks for the heads up! =}
You could use Duracoat, it is a refinisher for firearms, but we would never use it because it shines too much and gives you away on the battlefield, so we would use flat Krylon. The only problem with Duracoat will probably be the price. While a can or two of Krylon runs about $3, Duracoat is much more expensive.

My best friend ordered a controller from there last week. Custom colors, tried it for a while on GOW3. His hands had a slight paint odor after extended playing, but the quality of the work actually looked decent. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the posting. I don't know but the site looks extremely unprofessional to me. I'd rather stick with the original or get a professional airbrusher to do your job.

I was looking around and came across the site myself back in December.... I know I’m a little late to this one but hear me out. Apparently they came under new management or something because their new website looks tons better than the last one. I have personally ordered from them and received awesome service. There were a couple hiccups but they were taken care of swiftly. I ordered a full on modded controller. LED’s, Costume Zombie shell, L1 R1 buttons, ABXY buttons, Start select buttons, Triggers, joy sticks, and that little trim thingy at the bottom of the controller. I also requested a Beast Mod for it. I had an issue with the programing so I called and the lady brought a technician on the phone and he walked me thru it no problem. It was nice to deal with them. They seem like the actually care about their costumers and product. I was very impressed. Oh and you should check out this controller ZOMBIEROTICA since you are all into zombies and pinkness! LOL!!!

I don't know about this site, but I do know that www.modz-armory.com/default.asp does modded controllers and they have gotten really good reviews.

No. they are just visual mods like different colored buttons and sticks, as well as colored shells.
