It is the X-box's eye, the thing that reads the game. Try dusting it off by blowing in it and if that doesnt work your pretty much screwed unless you get a new one.

Yes, this already happened to me when I bought a 360 off Ebay ( my first one ), It would not read disk, it will say open tray when the game was in their like yours. but i returned angrily. and went to Best Buy and bought me a new one. I was so pissed

when i put a game in it dosent read it some of the time. it will say open tray even though i already have a game in their, and then i will take it out and put it back in over and over but it will finally work. is their something wrong with my xbox
