The lights are on
I've found a lot of good and interesting Xbox Live Arcade games, but I wanted to ask the community here, What's you favorite Xbox Live Arcade game?
Edit: sorry for double post everyone, just comment on whichever you want
I really enjoyed Limbo quite a bit. The art style and the play style were very satisfying, especially when the game really ramps up towards the end. That said, I don't think anything can beat the fun I had with Castle Crashers. My roommate and I played that game into the ground. It wasn't a perfect game, but it was a whole lot of fun.
I think Limbo got more hype than it deserved. My favorite would have to be Trials HD, with Castle Crashers at a VERY close second. Both of those games offered lots of fun in different ways.
One died in India. Three was tracked down in Brazil. I am the only one left. I am The Second Musketeer
I'm tempted to say Braid or Castle Crashers, but the replayability of Geometry Wars gives it the edge.
Well i haven't played Limbo yet so i'm deffinatly going to have to give it a try but at the moment i'll have to say Bastion. It's a beautiful looking game with original ideas that all just seem to work well together.
Soon to be: The simpsons arcade. It was a childhood favorite back when people went to arcades.
Wow. I almost said Bastion or Limbo until I saw DuskMirage's post. I completely forgot about Geometry Wars. That is by far the best XBL purchase I've ever made. That thing is the most addictive game to play. It's like playing the old school Asteroids game at a rave. The perfect balance of simplicity and smooth, addictive gameplay. If you don't own this game yet, you should definitely check it out.
I think Illfonic did a great job with this game. To all PC lovers: GO AWAY. You will hate this game because you will complain about the controls the entire time. For those of us who grew up playing unreal on consoles, you will love this game. It is a great throwback to the fast-paced arena shooters of yesteryear. With Cryengine 3 running, the game looks great. If you are complaining about the lack of guns/maps/varients, you are missing the point. This game is not COD. You cant just play one gametype all day with one gun and some overpowered killstreaks. You have to be good at all the guns and all the maps to truely be skilled. I bought this game because, in the end,it was only 10 bucks. Even if the matchmaking sucks, it can be updated. Buying the game sends the message that I like what they are trying to do,and I want them to continue.
Two games are tied for my favorite: Bastion and Super Meat Boy. Obviously, Bastion has the better story but Super Meat Boy is the best platformer I have ever played!
I'm familiar with everything but Geometry Wars. What's that game about?
It was Pac-Man: Championship Edition DX, and Bastion was a close second. But then I downloaded Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
And that's easily my favorite right now.
Though, I would have preferred a physical budget release for this. I'd have dropped $25 on it at retail, easily.
Blitz but I haven't played I am Alive yet
Guardian Heroes just cause I was a fan of the game when it was on Sega Saturn.
This doesn't belong in a blog..... it belongs...... ON FRONT PAGE!!! It all makes sense now.
Handsdown Trials HD. I am so ready for Trials Evolution. I even play the official Trials Extreme games on my phone.
