The lights are on
I have been playing games for almost 2 decades. I played both the Xbox 360 and the ps3, after my Xbox overheated 15 time. I counted. So I'm thinking of getting another Xbox, but I need some convincing before I do. What does the Xbox have that ps3 doesn't? What makes it better than the ps3? DON'T NOT SAY, " because it is". Please...
Maybe on the older models, BUT I F****** HATE THE POWER BUTTON ON THE SLIM MODELS. Every time I even breath heavily on the damn thing it shut off or turns on. It's by far the biggest drawback of the 360 slim from a hardware perspective.
I have both consoles, and while I don't believe one is better than the other, I can say I prefer my Xbox. Most of my friends have the 360 and I love joining party chat with them. Also, I think LIVE is just better than PSN.
It's not what makes it better, but why people like us have fun with it more then with the ps3. That's all.
This is a question that varies depending on who you ask, but for me (and yes, I do own a PS3 also) it is the functionality, speed, and organization of Xbox Live that wins the day. If its a cross platform title, I will nearly always buy the Xbox version for this reason.
I am also a Halo fanatic, (and to a lesser extent Forza) which makes the possibility of me becoming a Sony fan boy fairly remote.
xbox 360 slim wont over heat for a while it has a 1% fail rate
I own both systems and am happy with both of them, but I always buy my games for the Xbox 360 unless it is a PS3 exclusive. It has to do in large part with the fact my friends have Xbox 360s as well, but it also has to do with the usability of the dashboards. Also, why do I have to install a game or DLC after downloading it on the PS3. That should be behind the scenes as part of the download time or something. It needs to be presented more as a console than a computer system. It is many different subtleties which add up to a whole - that Xbox Live is a more complete experience.
It is a personal preference yet at the same time it's not.
Let's look at the bottom line, the PS3 no matter what stupid gripes you may have with it is indeed the better system, however, to some that doesn't matter because they would rather spend 200-300 each time their Xbox crashes rather than just paying for one Ps3 which has everything the Xbox has except for a minor few titles and personal profile/chat system.
I own both a ps3 and an xbox360 elite. My ps3 is the original Phat 60 gig which hasn't died, crashed or destroyed any games. Plus I replaced the 60 gig memory with a 500 gig
My Xbox on the other hand has destroyed 3 call if duty games and is on its way out the door. I play both of them equally, and download more on the ps3 due to the play station plus awesome free games they give out. Xbox has yet to give away anything for free.
Again personal preference will always trump logic.
I prefer the 360 over the PS3 mainly for three reasons, 1. the 360 has much better security and feedback system 2. the 360 gets in my opinion more exclusives or DLC sooner than the PS3 and 3. the 360 has alot more games that I like compared to the PS3
Gonna agree that a few Xbox exclusives are pretty ridiculous... Gears of war is probably my favorite Xbox exclusive game
Better no, PS3 has free Online Multiplayer no subscriptions(Live Gold) which I Prefer, but u pay for it in other ways such as more expensive DLC and Lots of updates. u also have to consider controller configurations. I prefer the 360 in this regard. U also have consider exclusive games and franchises ((Halo, Gears of War, Etc. For 360.)(Uncharted, God of War, Tekken, Etc., for PS3)). also if u do decide get another 360 Get the slim no where near the amount of problems that the original model had iE RROD.
For me, I just love the Xbox. My friends switched to PS3 because the online play was free, begrdgingly I did too, but kept my 360. I really tried to like the PS 3 but I could not. For one I love the 360 controller. Its so ergonomical, the offset of the hands fit perfect and the joysticks are just right. PS3's sticks are way to close and my hands felt like i was trying to hold two eggs apart and twiddle my thumbs. Graphics are even but load times for 360 are so much quicker and I like Xbox live way better. Ps3's voice chat while multiplaying is garbage. It is so easy to start up a multyplayer game with buddies and talk trash. Needless to say they switched back to Xbox because they liked how it used to be. My response after giving them a good chewing out was "I told you so!" I sold my PS3
I, like many others in this thread, have both systems. My PS3 collects dust and I think that my multitude of reasons are primarily personal preference based. I think you really can narrow your decision down to a few things:
1) Which online service do you prefer, Live or PSN?
2) Ergonomics: Control scheme and hardware preference
3) Exclusives you are partial to
4) Hardware: Does the Blu-Ray player functionality for PS3 make or break the accessibility of your media that you regularly use?
amazing, Xbox360 dominated PS3 on this thread.. for me PS3 is way cooler than XBox 360.. does XBL has better game offers than PSN, no.. Does XBox360 have kevin Butler, no.. PS3 has a tons of exclusive games..
addendum, XBox 360 game discs are likely to be easily-be-pirated than PS3, who has every disc is a blu-ray.. Cheers to PS3..
controller, games, xbox live..thats why its better
