The lights are on
I have been playing games for almost 2 decades. I played both the Xbox 360 and the ps3, after my Xbox overheated 15 time. I counted. So I'm thinking of getting another Xbox, but I need some convincing before I do. What does the Xbox have that ps3 doesn't? What makes it better than the ps3? DON'T NOT SAY, " because it is". Please...
The mian reason the xbox 360 is better is because of the crap user interface that playstation 3 has. Why do we need to know that a friend on playstation went offline. I see about going online, but who cares about going offline? When a friend on xbox gets online, you see a little circle-ish pop-up at the bottom of the screen that tells you "so-and-so is online". On playstation a big bulky box appears at the top of the screen telling you the same thing. For me, it gets in my way.
Does xbox 360 cost more than playstation to play online? Yes, but the social aspect is way better than playstation 3's in terms of party chat, and the new beacons. Plus xbox gets exclusive stuff for many games. Oh and usually gets DLC earlier.
Being the owner of a xbox 360 Pro (20g HDD), it overheated one time. I bought a intercooler, never did it again. Then for christmas I bought the new 360 250gig with kinect bundle because a harddrive costs about as much as a new one and becuase i liked the look of it. Never had one problem, not even freezing in a game. Playstation looks cooler though.
The graphics are way better on xbox 360
What does the Xbox have that PS3 doesn't? Gears of War, Halo, and Kinect. And heating problems. Granted, the Kinect doesn't have many notable (if any) games out, it is an interesting way to pull in a non-gaming market, so the Kinect may have a surprising future. I haven't tried the new Skyrim patch yet, but there is potential to distance itself from the PS3 through that.
I'm not sure I see much potential in the core console hardware, though. Xbox runs hot because the system is pretty much at its potential. However, PS3 could last a few more years. The PS3's addition of a blu-ray player makes it a more attractive choice, as does the comparable price. If you want to be able to cook your eggs while you game, I would advise going with the 360.
The Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, and Mass Effect series are all cross console, and tend to look better and run more smoothly on a PS3. If graphics and load times aren't a deciding factor, it basically comes down to whether or not you feel the need to buy a system that you can play Gears or Halo on, and if you think the Kinect is something you want to invest.
While you may have a collection of 360 or PS3 games, I would advise you to consider repurchasing them as "used" for whichever console you decide to go with. I ended that last sentence with a preposition, sorry.
I prefer Xbox Live to PSN. There is also the sexiness of the user interface.
There are exclusives both ways, so I bough both systems; however, if a game is available for both systems I almost always pick up the Xbox 360 version. Plus, more of my friends have the Xbox 360.
Nothing really. They're both quality machines and whichever one you go with, you're probably going to be happy.
The Xbox is better for actually connecting with friends to play games and you have cross-game chat which is a bonus. The UI, in my opinion, is a complete pain in the Dick. It's a pain to find anything and everytime I go to a page it goes to an advertisement (which can be really annoying when it's Terry Crews screaming the whole time). That's not to say the the PS3's XMB is perfect either, you can easily scroll past something at times, but I definitely prefer it.
XBLA has more great exclusive titles than PSN, but PSN is no slouch either. It terms of actual online play, I've noticed almost no difference between the two, even when playing the same game on both. However, if you're big into multiplayer gaming, more people play on XBL so probably go with the Xbox.
In terms of exclusives, the only ones worth owning on the Xbox (in my opinion) are Gears of War, Halo, Alan Wake, Forza, and the Witcher 2. PS3 has A LOT more quality exclusives in my opinion, but again this is subjective, and really depends on your tastes. I prefer a deep single-player experience, which the PS3 has more of in my opinion. In terms of prospective exclusives, the Xbox has Halo 4. The PS3 has The Last of Us, Sly 4, Sony Smash Bros., and God of War Ascension, so you have a lot more to look forward to has a Sony fan. Unfortunately for hard core gamers, Microsoft is pushing the Kinect to death, which in my opinion, is a complete waste of time and money on Microsoft part. They are never going to obtain the same casual following that Nintendo did with the Wii, particularly if they are going to come out with a new console next year.
In terms of the controller, the Xbox wins, but both have their advantages. I personally prefer the 360's back triggers and the actual sticks and Face buttons, but much prefer the placement of the sticks on the PS3 controller, the front shoulder buttons (they have more resistance and control which is a definite plus in my opinion) and the D-Pad. Seriously, the D-Pad on the 360 controller is a joke. It NEVER works properly. In addition, the 360 controller is better for you're hands if you're going to play frequently for long periods of time as it is more comfortable in you're hands.
All in all, the PS3 and the 360 are both great consoles, and whichever you choose to go with, be confident that you will be happy.
yeah unless you play for like 6-7 hour straight, the new black ones won't over heat.
Definitely the user interface.....User interface on the PS3 is really outdated...the 360 has a nice Windows 8 lay out....so will the XboxLoop
Xbox LIVE is better than PSN (cross chat!), lots of multiplatform games look better and the pad is just great, despite *** d-pad.
It is quite better than the ps3, and i had told my friend like a list of reasons, for example xbox has indie games, like minis but some are kind of better and if ure like a minecraft fan, xbox 360 has it, not ps3, also you are not forced to install every game you buy on xbox 360,I think, but im not sure that the remote has a better template, and is less fragile than a ps3 remote, and the ps3 gets the yellow light still, i think. Also, ps3 can be easily hacked, even after the update, im pretty sure someone will hack psn and get through the security that sony thought ps3 was safe with.
for me i just like the 360's controller better...but i dont think one system is necessarily superior to the other...i still play on my old ps2, xbox, and gamecube as well...d.m.
I have both systems (and a Wii) and I like their own exclusivity. My PS3 is mostly used as my Blu Ray and Netflix system. And the 360 is for the gaming. Especially since Forza Motorsports is Xbox only. Both systems are great in their own and shared ways.
You may have to pay for Xbox live, but at least it doesnt get hacked and the system gets shut down for a month. Just saying. And NIck is right, the controller (I find) is way more comfortable than the PS3. Now dont get me wrong I love em both, I just prefer my good ol' 360.
everything except paying for live but you pay for quality
I just think the 360 has a better controller. =/
I prefer xbox because of xbox live, party chat, and the xbox controller is much more comfortable to use.
