I think it would be awesome, I mean come on imagine doing those epic and hilarious quests with atleast 3 other friends. Trading armor and weapons and searching for items such as parts for weapons or bobbleheads. What do you think?

well if you mean co-op, it might be interesting. but if you mean competitive, i think it's a bad idea, basically reducing fallout to any other type of shooter.

The Fallout multiplayer you envision sounds a lot like Borderlands.

I would rather just lone wolf it.

I would like to see an option for split screen. The dawn of Xbox Live has phased out more and more split screen options/ general co-op on games. I remember the days of Goldeneye and even the first Halo when playing together in the same room or adjacent rooms with multiple people on the same console was the thing to do. Now if you want to play CoD with more then four of your buddies at once they all each have to have a xbox.

Fallout co op should be like border lands as in have hubs and limiting areas of player separation and something like a defib weapon think melee shock can revive and kill.

Maybe a competitive mode based in anchorage or alaska that is like Op:Anchorage you know like USA v PLA fallout weapons dif controlls like MW2 just with tech from the fallout universe or mutants v BoS or enclave v Mutants. perhaps like ferals against survivors with player controlled super mutants like L4D

the combat in general would be really fun, but the vats system wouldnt really work :/

yea, vats would be out, i agree   but seeing this post made me think.... vault style mmo? mmo is still pretty new to the macine (i think only 1 or 2 are out there, dont know if im wrong or not), but change up a few things and post-nuclear/steampunk mmo.... def wouldnt be a carbon copy of fallout as we know it but im not sure if id like to play fallout3 as multi just because its just an awsome story and found it great solo. hate if you want, but fallout3 as it stands wouldnt be cool multi ...  :)

i disagree with the multiplayer.

I think that Fallout 3 works based on the sense of isolation.  I am not sure that co-op or competitive modes would add anything and it could be detremental to the artistic design.  VATs would not work in a competitve multiplayer.

That would be good on a seperate mode of the game. But great idea though!

It would ruin the experience for me, all I needed was dogmeat! The whole basis for fallout 3 was the lone vault dweller searching for his father,not my chemical bromance.

Thats what borderlands is for!

Ummm... guys, you know they're making a Fallout MMO, right? Its being created by Interplay as Bethesda lost the legal battle. As for ACTUAL Fallout games, that would be a huge no-no.

I think a co-op would be great but i still think online like cod would be horrible, i liked fallout 3 because of the great story line and work put into the world, I would hate to see them put alot of effort into a online fallout without a super great story line.
