PS3 has a whole lot of good games i had a 360 but the red ring happened i did not even have it for a year i mean 360 is good but PS3 is mostly better

I would say PS3 the reason for is because xbox you pay rent that is how i look at it then playstation is free and a great system.

Persoanlly I bought my PS3 for one reason... to change its OS to Linux. My favorite is Xbox 360 just for the sheer number of better titles and the controller! I am also a Microsoft fan boy sense I went through 3 PS1s and a PS3

I have a 360 but I'm really not too thrilled with paying $60 for LIVE and I've just now started playing heavily online. Some of the PS3 exclusives games are starting to sound good to me Uncharted, Infamous to name a couple. And since Mass Effect is starting to move to PS3 I'm thinking about purchasing a PS3.

Well both systems have online, just depends on your online preferences. If you want a console exclusive mulitplayer game, get that console, if you want a multiplatform one, I would get a PS3 cause it is FREE!!!

Well. XBOX

pros: Nice Community, HALO, gEARS, controller considered great.

cons: online fees, red ring, very fragile system.

PS3

pros: Free online gaming, UNCHARTED, lITTLEBIGPLANET, sturdy system with low failure rate

cons: bad Community, (CAMPERS, NOOBS)

I prefer the PS3, for the feeling and sturdiness of the controller, but whatever. I think they are both great systems. I just don't like fees, and the fragility of XBOX.

they are both great systems with *** good hardware...the edge use to belong with the PS3 but now i have to give it to the slim360..it has all the same features as the last console but has some must needed accessories..it now has wifi aand some plug for hdtvs// idk bout that but its way smaller than a ps3 and looks a helluva lot more sexy than the ps3...i have to say online is better with the 360...more and more the 360 is also getting more exclusives....i also have to add that pretty soon a new update is coming and im sure that will make it pass up both Sony and Nintendo! anyways i prefer the 360 in everyway possible...plus its somewhat cheap for HD gaming

okay do what i did if you originally played gamecube and like nintendo keep with nintendo if you had the original playstation then playstation 2, psp, then ps3 is what you would like if you had the first xbox and never got the xbox360 that might be what like

I agree with dbull620. Even though I do not have a PS3 (I have a 360 and Wii), I would say if you want great single player games then go with the PS3. If you want a great mulitplayer games and an even better online experience, then go with the 360 because it has more features.

They are great at their own things.

PS3

-free online

-great exclusive titles

-Blu-ray player

-web browser

Xbox 360

-pay for online (I've been a gold member for 2 years and it really doesn't bother me because you definitely get what you pay for.)

-also has great exclusive titles

-DVD player (It's still fine, but from what I have heard, Blu-ray is the way to go.)

-sadly no web browser (The xbox does have twitter, facebook, and Last.fm capabilities, though.)

For me, it really came down:

-what exclusive titles do I want to play?

-what console do the friends that I want to play with have?

You have to ask yourself what kind of games and what game franchises you like because they will give you a clear idea regarding what console you want to buy. Then you ask yourself if you want to play online or not. After that, you should take a look at your budget. I'm sure you've already done a lot of research so you already know what you will get out of both consoles. As soon as you've done all that, it's really easy to choose. In case it's still a big problem, then saving up and buying both.
