The lights are on
Not sure if this is where this post should be, but here goes.As a gamer, I have always been interested in the construction of games, how they're made, the design behind it, how to improve it. I figured that going to college for game design or programming or such would be a great decision for me. However I need some help from those who have taken this path and finally found themselves in the gaming industry. What colleges/universities (preferably with online only classes or campuses within the California Orange County area) would you recommend for getting a degree in this area? I've looked at a few colleges already, but I would like to know what you all suggest (those of you who have followed the schooling route). Thanks!
I know a couple people that attended DigiPen and had no issues finding work in the industry after finishing. Both pretty gifted though for sure. From what they told me it was not cheap.
Also, as someone who works in the technology industry and has technical degrees, I will give some advice that you can take however you want. I would only recommend choosing the programming route if you ENJOY and are capable of doing advanced high level math. A lot of programming jobs you will get are based on foundations of various math, and the schooling is extremely math intensive.
