Which games do you believe desreved the score and which did not? What games besides these would you give a 10/10 to? That's why I use quotation marks when I say "perfect"

A Perfect 10/10

Just wanted to point out that because a game got a 10/10 doesn't mean it's perfect. I even looked up in a GI mag of mine, couple years old but whatever, and it states"...a game that is NEARLY perfect in every way." There is no such thing as a perfect game. When games are handed 10/10's or five stars there are claiming it's an outstanding, can't be missed game that defines the gen said game is in. Every game has it's flaws, no matter what the score is. I don't mean to rant but this is a common misconception that annoys me.

A Perfect 10/10

It's ironic that when people talk about perfect games, they mostly mention games that only recently came out. I'd give it a few years before I consider a game 'perfect'

Also, on the gameinformer Top 200 Games, how come all the games they gave 10s weren't at the top of the list? If they have the highest scores, shouldn't they be at the top?

A Perfect 10/10

As for me, there are not many games that are 10 out of 10 worthy. Some are close but one a handful are saintly deemed the big old number 1 followed by the zero. GTA IV to me was super boring, I played it for an hour or so and turned it off and never played it again. I can see it being fun for most, but for me? Not so much and as for me and my perfect games(recent)*** here it goes.

Assassin's Creed II

BioShock

Halo2(the 3rd one was pronounced dead with their crappy multiplayer)

Batman: Arkham Asylum

RE4

That's all that comes to mind as for now and i will update it if anything pops up.

*** I don't own a PS3 and can't comment on their exclusive titles.

Re: A Perfect 10/10

Super Smash Bros. That game had excellent replayability, wonderful musics, beatiful graphics, awesome gameplay, and a great story, not to mention I have not found a single flaw in the game.

But then again, there will always be games that beat it. Prehaps Grand Turismo 5 once I get a PS3?

A Perfect 10/10

The ultimate factor for rating a game is entertainment, because every other factor is just a part of the overall entertainment you get from a videogame

A Perfect 10/10

wait they gave San Andrea, VC, and GTA 4 10's... someone has a hard-on for Rockstar lol. They seem fair but I dunno maybe 9's for them like you said. As for Fallout 3, it is one of my favorite games but it does not warrant a 10.

To be honest it really depends on several key factors like

playability, replay value, entertainment, how epic it is, graphics sure, even the impact that it has had as a whole on your daily life lol.

what do you guys think those factors are? those are just my opinions

A Perfect 10/10

Most games that get a 10 deserve it. But I think they jumped the gun on giving GTA:San Andreas, GTA:Vice City, and GTA IV perfect scores. They're all great games, but they are not quite "perfect." (But they're definently in the '9' range)

A Perfect 10/10

I don't think perfect games exist. There are plenty of terrific, near-perfect games, but there's always room for improvement.

For me, the games that come closest:

Bioshock

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Resident Evil 2

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Metal Gear Solid

Batman: Arkham Asylum

A Perfect 10/10

BioShock totally deserved the 10. But didn't Mass Effect get a perfect score?

A Perfect 10/10

The only games I'd give a 10/10 out of that I can remember are Shadow of the Colossus (the reason I got a PS2), Donkey Kong Country 2, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

Warped was the first PS1 game I put serious time into, and it had a nice difficulty level. Not too hard to get through it, and REALLY hard to unlock everything. Downloaded it on my PS3 and I still love it.

Donkey Kong Country 2 fixed all of the problems wrong with the first one. There was more depth to the controls, it was longer, harder, AND had more replay value, plus amazing graphics and music for its time (the music holds up really well today).

The first time I remember seeing Shadow of the Colossus was a review on X-Play, and the footage of it alone made me have to play it, and was the reason I got a PS2 (only had a gamecube until then). My jaw has never dropped lower seeing the first colossi up close, and the ending still makes me cry (I'm happy they didn't include an english voicetrack).

Other games that I would put really close to a 10 are MGS4 (I never played any of the other games, but downloading the encyclopedia for the series helps you understand it all) and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Uncharted 2 I can't decide on.

A Perfect 10/10

FF13 and GOW3 will most def get a 10

A Perfect 10/10

i give mortal kombat vs dc universe 10/10 and gta iv 10/10

A Perfect 10/10

you just made so happy, i was always trying to figure out how gameinformer could not give a single perfect 10 in the 90s but than give at least 1 a year in the 00s

A Perfect 10/10

i dont think GTA4 deserved a 10. i personally found san andreas to be better. GTA4 absolutely stumps SA in terms of graphics, but what else really? CJ is a much better character than Niko. Niko was a compelling character, but he wasnt as likable as CJ. plus, his involvement with that one dude he ran from (i forget his name) NEVER had any closure. CJ was a much more relatable character, and WAY more customizeable. i think taking all those characters stats out was a HUGE mistake, because it really made you care about CJ. characters in San Andreas were also alot better. outside of brucie and packie, who really stuck out in GTA4? and Niko's involvement with the Mob? i always felt that came out of nowhere. sure, either roman or kate dying was horrible, but so was when CJ found out his closest friends were responsible for all his troubles. The city may have been better in GTA4, but all of the gameplay in SA was better. imo anyways.

A Perfect 10/10

I'll probably say Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and BioShock is more deserving of its rating. One game that i think deserves a 10 (although it got close) is Modern Warfare 2.
Bioshock 2 on the other hand, which I have reserved, will have probably have just as good and lengthy of a campaign as before; and most likely a better and maybe longer one as well. Along with the all new hectic multiplayer, Bioshock 2 will most definently add on the missing replay value of the first.

I also have very high hopes for Mass Effect 2 which I have also reserved. If there is any other game besides Fallout 3 that I would give a 10 to in the near future, It might just be either Mass Effect 2 or Bioshock 2. Both games are going to be epicly awesome! :)

A Perfect 10/10

bioshock for me is pretty much it for me. if it had better replay value.....

A Perfect 10/10

I personally loved Oblivion, i would give it a 9.75 or a 10, but that's a personal opinion. the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was pretty darn near perfect. Fallout 3 was close to perfect, but after playing Fallout 3 for a few hours it's easy to get tired of it quickly.

A Perfect 10/10

Most games they gave 10s,I agreed with.

At that time, no game ever got a perfect 10. Mario 64 got a 9.75 because one section received a 9.5 or so.

Once they changed over to just a single score, that was when the 10s started flowing. I might be wrong, but Tony Hawk 2 was the first one that I remembered.

Even though I still agree with GI on 95% of the reviews they put out, I still miss those days of further substantiation of what could be perceived as an arbitrary single number. Perhaps now with Issue 201, they can return to what seems to be a more objective view.

A Perfect 10/10

Mass Effect was really outstanding to me, so was Devil May Cry 4, although I was probably the only one.
