The lights are on
After reading about the release of 3D Televisions and the planning for 3D games, it got me thinking. Am i the only one who thinks that 3D gaming is just going to be another annoyance?
I think that 3D gaming is unneccesary and is just one more thing that companies are gonna want consumers to spend their money on.
That is just my opinion, what is yours, do you think that the idea of 3D gaming will be revolutionary or unneccesary?
unneccesary i think 3D is goin to blow i just hope video gaming doesnt become exclusively 3D
I think it is too soon. Many people don't own HDTVs yet and the industry plans to bring out a new product to replace them with an unproven new technologoy. It just strikes me as a recipe for disaster.
I would be more excited about 3D gaming, but honestly my one annoyance at 3D anything is bad CG in 3D. To play a game like that entirely would be murder on my eyes. If not for that I'd be all for it though.
I can't see things in 3D (with 3D glasses), so I'm really hoping that it doesn't become the standard.

Apparently the new 3D HD TV's are going to require glasses, if that's the case, I just don't see it. 3D glasses are limited return gimmick. There maybe a percentage of people who are dying for full time 3d, but I'm willing to bet they are in the minority. I have no interest in wearing glasses everytime I flip on my TV or play a game...in fact, I have no desire to go to 3d movies and wear glasses, to me they are uncomfortable and distracting- especially when they fog up and you have to take them off to clean them....
I won't invest, if it becomes the standard, I'll find a new hobby.
When all is said and done, more will have been said than done.
Not all 3D TV's require the glasses. One of my AF buddies has a 3D TV, and all it required was certain video drivers for his PC. It will only play PC games in 3D though, no console games.
If you bred HK-47, Shale, Chai Ka and Wrex, the gaming world would explode from sheer badassery.
I'm holding my breath for Virtual Boy 2...
Well, when 3-D comes, it might be cool. Now this fake 2-D trick they are trying to pass off as 3-D, I hope it is a big fail and money loser for the entertainment industry in the home market.
Only people that didn't see the movie "Avatar" in 3D would ever speak such heresy!
3D gaming will be amazing. It just has to be done correctly, and not half-assed...
Yes I agree With Stockholm but the problem is that a lot of people will think that it is gimmicky or to expensive and a lot of the time it is for example Avatar the game basically was riding on 3d and nothing else also I don"t want to shell out over three hundred dollars on a new TV and if I do that then what if I have friends over so to start you have a TV that costs a shitload and every additional friend equals another fifty dollars hell no will continue to stick to HD that doesn't cost an assload of cash and can watch with friends and not have to pay fifty buck a bud
I'm not feeling 3-D right now either. Not long ago G.I. did a big feature about current 3-D technologies, and they seemed incredibly indifferent about all of it. You know how Reiner is. If 3-D was awesome he'd be talking about it all the time, and he hasn't said squat.
