The lights are on
Greetings! I haven't posted in the forums before and I'm always fearful at new forums that I'm going to butcher some rule about posting, but anyways, this idea has been bugging me..... and I think some other gamer folks can feed my interest.
I was reading some old issues and posts and interviews about that oh so popular notion that the Japanese gaming industry is is danger of drying up in terms of talent and production of those great triple-A titles. Then I hear about how Devil May Cry and other Japanese series are letting the wild west treatment (little joke, sorry I know its bad)
My question is, (and hopefully not already been asked in some long lost thread that someone will post in my face to shame.... lol) we already have evidence that western properties can be understood and used in cross-series games that are Japanese developed. So why not let some of the great, long running western RPG's or online MMO's be givin the old Kingdom Hearts treatment? No one ever thought that Disney and Final Fantasy would work, but it was a perfect mix of the story and characters of Final Fantasy that western gamers love with that familiar childhood sense of fantasy. (Also with cherished characters that many grew up on)
