The lights are on
Most campers just sit behind your spawn killing you, and sometimes camping does take out alot of the fun. The annoying ones only care about points, not that the game is fun.
its annoying as hell. In MW and MW2 when a camper kills me I always get my revenge. Only a handful of time I die to pro campers more than twice. but yeah. Hate campers. luckily in MW there is killcam, best weapon against camper so far. its so fun to sneak up behind a camper and knife. A pro-camper always moves around after a few kills. Snipers are not necessarily campers.
I agree with poster "littlejoe." Camping appeals to the realism of certain videogames. In warfare, one doesn't run around as if they have 9 lives. Also, it must be effective ( or annoying ) enough to have generated so much discussion. Annoying, yes, agreed there, but revenge is always sweet.

Happiness is: A Belt-Fed Weapon
I played a match of Domination last night and two guys on the opposing team were totally spawn camping....totally lame.
I actively hunt campers.....all you need is a heart beat sensor.....no where to hide.
I'm sensing there are a lot of different definitions of campers, and we all have fallen into that category at some point. Ducking into a corner to reload is smart, though it sometimes results in a kill, can anyone on this list say they wouldn't pull the trigger if someone wandered in front of them at that moment? Many is the time I've been pissed at a worthless camper when during the match I had to admit to myself they werent camping and I got unlucky with when I showed up. I"m interested in how the game developers have dealt with this issue. Notice that you usually are about 3 seconds away from killing that camper when you respawn. Campers rarely win out except in hardcore.
It's a beautiful thing when a team takes and defends an area and adds a great aspect to a match. But again, if this does occur, I notice that respawning begins to occur on the other side of the map.
yeah I agree jdizzle, people who find themselves memorizing spawn points need to admit they aren't playing the game right!
It's fine. People need to stop crying about campers just because they don't know how to check corners. Also, go do objective-based games, 90% of campers do deathmatch.

I have Ninja Pro on both my run-and-gun and sniper classes. There. Heartbeat sensor solved. I'll stand over a prone camper and talk to them before I knife or headshot them. I do snipe and when sniping, I usually move after each kill between two or three spots.
i'm tired of ppl complaining about campers (spoken like a true camper, i know, lol). if a team is gonna follow the same patterns like programmed ai, filing through the same chokepoints over and over, then they're just fish in a barrel and asking to be picked off. likewise, if they can't overcome a camper, than they deserve to be playing even less than the campers they complain about. hell, i hate being camped as much as the next person, but you better believe i'll do it if it's gonna help win the match. that said, spawn campers are satan's spawn. ; )
I use camping-esque tactics in Modern Warfare 2, though I do move on after two or three kills. I don't have a problem with it at all. Even those people who hide behind corners.. they get me once, and I just pop around the corner with my throwing knife.
I would say if you get killed by a camper repeatedly, you just don't know the proper tactics for dealing with them.
It depends on the game and the gameplay really. Objective based games are easier to camp in but it is all relative. The only time I see it as a problem is when a person is camping at some rediculously far off spot where they will only get one or two people the entire match. Other than that though, fair game.
Though I will say as an aside any game that has a no-respawn mode needs to have the ability to deal with campers. Right now I've heard the horror stories where people will literally sit in one spot for over half an hour without moving. That is taking it too far.
Its simple for me. Camping is no fun. I can't bring myself to sit and wait because I need to find and get into the action. I don't care if you camp but know this, I will come back and kill you instantly then I will check that area whenever I am close to it.
Camping is annoying and essential at the same time. Not all campers are created equal. Theres the good and the bad. So take it as it is and overcome them by tweaking your skillz beyond theirs.

Camping is fine when you're about to die and you need to lay low for a while. But camping the whole game just going for the nuke in MW2 is just ridiculous.
Camping is annoying when the other guy gets up on some high platform where he can see the whole field. I used to play Medal of Honor(Split screen co-op) with this guy who would always seek the highest position on a map and then break out the sniper scope. Then he would be able to see the whole map, and kill anyone coming. The worst part was, my respawns were always like 5 miles away from his camping place, so he would kill me before I got close to his camping area.
