Well, my favourite action games are: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and God of War II. "Bayonetta soon to be added to the list."

Other notables: Ninja Gaiden (Xbox 360), Afro Samurai, and Heavenly Sword.

The Dynasty Warriors series and spin-offs have recently become my favorites. Warriors Orochi 2 still leads the pack, with Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 as a close second.
