  • Hey gameinformers, do you love puzzles as much as we do in Triada Studio Games?

We have put our two decades of experience in 3D modeling and VFX into Shadowmatic - the first game created in our studio.

Shadowmatic is a meditative 3D puzzle game of finding shapes hidden in shadows. The player rotates seemingly abstract three-dimensional objects in spotlight, making their shadows form familiar silhouettes relevant to the surrounding environment.

The project is focused on delivering immersively photorealistic graphics across iOS devices, combined with gameplay that’s stimulating, challenging, and relaxing at the same time. The player experiences 9 distinct environments, with unique soundtrack for each.

    Main features:

    • Over 70 unique levels
    • 9 distinct environments
    • Photorealistic real-time 3D graphics
    • Non-linear level progression
    • Intuitive and responsive multi-touch controls
    • Tilt-enabled 3D parallax view

Watch our gameplay preview and let us know what you think!

Shadowmatic is scheduled to be released in early spring 2014.

  • Hey gameinformers,

we want to share some updates regarding the development process.

Since publishing Shadowmatic’s gameplay preview we have been overwhelmed by the amount of positive feedback. It inspires us and gives us the confidence that we are on the right track. Some people have expressed concerns that the puzzles might be too challenging to solve. Even though we don't find the game to be unreasonably difficult, we have decided to develop and preview a system of hints that the players can resort to when stuck. We want to stress though, that using hints to solve any of the puzzles should not be necessary, and we hope that they won't be used too often, if at all.

This update brings you a preview of how hints work in Shadowmatic by demonstrating a sample level from the game. You can notice the various strange silhouettes the player attempts to project during his quest for the only correct solution.

Each level has 4 hints. The first two are short sentences giving the object some descriptive context; the third one reveals the title of the level. In case these are not enough, the player can use the final hint and see an image of the shadow he’s looking for.

Hints are unlocked by using "hintpoints", of which the player is initially granted a few dozen. Number of player’s hintpoints increases daily. Extra hintpoints are earned by completing levels.

We also feel it's important for Shadowmatic to perform well on older devices, which is why we invest a lot of effort to achieve top performance. This particular preview has been recorded on a third-generation iPad, and we have found that even less powerful devices can handle the game.
