The lights are on
Turtle Beach ones are pretty good for the most part. Don't really have a specific.
What exactly is the point in buying really expensive mics and stuff to just hear other players? I hardly ever use mine.. it's mostly 12 to 15 year old boys complaining about this and that. i really don't hear words when they talk.. i swear.. i just hear this annoying sound coming from my mic.. it's like they are saying words... but it means nothing.. cause nothing they talk about is important or contributing to anything.. BUT thats just me i dont mean to ramble.. i have a cheap 10 dollar mad cats mic lol. tell me i really am curious though about the good ones they recently came out with what all do they do?
Whatever peels your orange
I've had several pairs of Turtle beaches they all seem to break... I personally don't recommend them at all.
Astro A40's and the new A50's look very good for the experienced gamer who can afford them.
This is only an issue if you use general comms in games, if you run your own voice server alongside your gaming it's good to chat with your mates in and out of game, and that's worth a good set of headphones and a decent microphone. I enjoy gaming most when my mates are gaming too, gaming alone all the time is a bit like drinking alone....
I drink alone all the time but it's always better with friends. I like headphones that are capable of producing deep bass notes. I've yet to own a pair of Turtle Beach headphones that could push out any impressive bass range sounds
Hands down the Astro A40s. I bought an A40 system in 09, some gear had some issues, and Astro replaced it no problems. "hey this isn't working' 'do x, y, z' 'still not working' 'sending you a replacement'. Small stuff, like a mic. The toslink flap on my Mixamp broke off. It was out of the 1 year warranty. I asked for another flap to replace it(1c piece of plastic right?). Apparently this was covered under the extended manufacturers warranty. I received a brand new mixamp. They revised the Mixamp since 09(this was 2011), there is no longer any flap which could break off :p.
To the point. Astros have a high build quality and if something does break Astro replaces it. In regards to performance you won't find a better audio solution for console gaming. However, for the PC just get a good soundcard and some AD700s.
I've been using a Turtle Beach PX5 and am really happy with mine.
From a comfort perspective tritons seem to have the better design. Instead of circular shaped they are more form fitted to the ear. When it comes to specs I'm no Steve Jobs but from my experience the sound quality is amazing with my triton headphones. Have had only one issue with the mic but mad catz replaced free of charge and free shipping. To really know what you want though the best thing to do is just go to the store and try them all on.
I wouldn't go too crazy, must gaming headsets sound roughly the same and perform well enough for the most part. None of them are really very good when you get into a debate about truly good cans, but anything by Triton, Turtle beach, Logitech and a host of others will do just fine....you get the idea....I would get a base model as most of these tend to be seriously mid to low end stuff that caters to the masses...
I game for a couple hours a day, and I've had my PX21's for about a year now, no problems whatsoever! Which model did you have?

I've heard good things about Triton. Despite being owned by MadCatz their higher end gear is dependable.
