The lights are on
I think its all equally important, but if I had to choose one part. I would say that gameplay is the most important.
I find more and more of a need for a good story. Of course if the gameplay is good I can forgive the simplicity or flaws of one's story. Conversely if the story is great and the characters interesting I can forgive the lapses of gameplay. Atmosphere kinda ties into that.
I have to go with story. If I am really interested in the story i'll play for hours and i'll beat the game multiple times.
Why can't I vote?
Gameplay is certainly most important. I'll put up with a game with no story, terrible graphics, and music that makes your ears bleed if it has great gameplay.
graphics AND story
Story, the game has to have a good story. Then game play.
I know for me it story. I've never been able to play Assassin's Creed because of its silly story.
I think a good mixture of everything, mainly Gameplay, story, and atmosphere for me, one of the reasons I loved Bioshock, it's gameplay and story were relally great, but what sold me most was the atmosphere I really believed I was there. :)
Gameplay, Graphics, Story, Atmosphere, Music. Examples of great uses in this order :Deadspace(s) Bioshock(s) Fallout(s).
A good mix of everything is definitely important. Everything falls flat if one part is fantastic, but the rest sucks.
Story ,story , story. I could deal with crap graphics and passable game play. But i can make a connection with the characters and want to see how there story ends then the game is worthless. I love the God of War games. In fairness all the game are pretty much the same game-play wise but what hold me is the story and how as bad kratos is ,he is still a man that can be redeemed
Story
Gameplay and story are definitely on the top of my list, but gameplay edges out story just a bit
My only New's Resoloution is to start restoring my video game collection.
