The lights are on
Mmmm...retro graphics. I miss it. Since I no longer have any of my old systems anymore,I get my fix from watching Game Sack on YouTube or playing any of today's games that are designed that way. So yes,I grew up with them and will forever love them to death!
I grew up with 8 ad 16 bit graphics. But now I cant stand looking at them.
I have standards, and those standards are HD graphics, no childish game play or mechanics (all nintendo games and Lego games), the game must have complicated game mechanics i.e Arma, good story line. If its on PC it must meet all those requirements and contain mod support.
if it's missing one of those features. It's total garbage and not worth a penny.
Retro graphics..... let me see...... yes as long as it is on a retro game. The new games being developed by people using retro graphics are not as attractive as games using the graphics of today. I, for one, did not by a PS3 so I could play double dragon NES style. I expect to be awed by the beauty of the game after I have played a fantastic game. Example: I put probably 12 hours into Skyrim when I stopped and thought to myself, "Holy crap this is a frigging pretty game."
Oh yeah, when I want retro I have plenty of emulators to get that fix.
graphics aren't the selling point of a game for me. its mostly about gameplay for me. that being said I do prefer newer graphics over the new.
old
I grew up with 8- and 16- bit graphics. I loved them then and still do to this day. Super Meat Boy and Fez were great callbacks to that era. And Abobo's Big Adventure! What a trip!
I love retro graphics I actually just bought a new snes and getting a genesis soon! Gotta love the oldies.
retro graphics are what gets me through the rest of the week
I enjoy the look and feel of the 8- and 16- bit era, and I grew up in that era so that helps but, my vote is for the "I only care about gameplay" line because in a game thats all that matters. there are so many examples and testaments to that, beautiful breath taking games that after 30 min you realize were not worth the virtual space they take up... then there are games that look horrible and aged about as well as milk, but the core design and gameplay are what make it amazing.

I'd have to say that I grew up with them and when I am feeling nostalgic, I probably wouldn't mind seeing and playing some of the old school retro games. In all honesty though I do prefer the HD graphics and storytelling in this era much better then the 8 and 16 bit days.
I enjoy retro graphics plenty. Unfortunately I feel like most games that seem to employ them are remarkably similar and I find it tough to get into them.
no...the closest I play to retro is my DS XL.
Not going to say that I love pixelated graphics specifically, but I do like graphics that doesn't render the scene perfectly obvious and thus requires at least some imagination to percieve.
Got a plentiful collection of both NES, Famicom, Mega Drive, Master System, Gameboy games etc that I play from time to time. There's lots of really interesting graphical examples and it's usually filled with very vibrant colors due to the limitations of the systems.
So overall I'd say I really like pixelated graphics as long as they have a nice use of colors.
I'd also say that I don't generally play games for the graphics so I might as well enjoy more modern titles like Republic Commando just as much as older titles like ZEN: Intergalactic Ninja. :)
