The lights are on
Hello GI community. I was just wondering how many of you guys have jail broken your ipod touches or iphones... Post below and if you want, tell me why you did.
That I do not.
Please do not feed the trolls. Violation of Internet Health Safety Code 115270-3B Subsection 2 Paragraph 1. Violators are punishable to up to 5 years in internet shame.

I do see why people would do it but I personally won't ever jail brake my ipod.

Why not... When all else fails you can just restore it... It's actually pretty much impossible to break it to the point that all it's being used for is a paper weight on a desk.
Nah, I don't think I ever will do that. I am satisfied with the iTouch as is. It works great and continues to be a good investment for me.
Now, I don't know the full story on jailbreaking iphones, but I do remember that some people do it to get free apps. There's just no way I would do that. Yeah, I know there are some larger app companies, but its the small ones that take a beating in something like that.
i almost jailbroke my ipad if that counts for ya .. mostly due to wanting more customization.. but ended up deciding against it and not risking a insanely expensive gadget
Not yet, bought the 4s, waiting for the 5.0.1. jailbreak :)
I have jailbroken my 3gs before.
What exactly does it do? I wanna know what they point would be.
Look around on youtube... It actually is really fun... so much more customization.. things from shaking it and making all the apps in gravity mode... changing the sizes... changing the entire interface... or even changing the corner that says "ipod" to watever you want.. you can also change the wifi icon to anything.. Mine is a decepticon symbol.. there is SO much.. plus.. free apps.. ahhh yeah.. I Mean... yes you are stealing from some smaller app companies, but I'm not rich..
Well cool! Ill have to check it out then
JailBroke my Ipod Touch 2nd Gen running 3.2 when it was new. Loved it.
JailBroke my Ipad 1 running 4.0.1 (I Think) and did the same everytime i updated. Loved it
JailBroke my Iphone 4s running 5.0.1 and I love it too.
The reason i did was because i wanted to try the apps before spending money on them.
I also like how customizable it is. And NO it does NOT affect battery life. DO it bro.
I have jail broken three of my iPods and one iPad that wasn't mine but a friends. I personally just like to do it, not sure why I just enjoy doing it. I've also rooted every phone I have owned since I received my first Android phone. I've never used an iPhone though. :)
Thats a negative. Mostly just because I don't want to or know how to.
