I love lamb of god and mayhem hahahaha. Also the beatles are groovy too. But wat i play too most is Dimmu Borgir. Metal heart and burn in hell are awesome on fallout. I refuse to play any game without music its another passion of mine just as much as gaming. Keep it up my friend and youl find that some tunes go perfectly with cut seens in the game.

The Super Meat Boy soundtrack is great to listen to while playing any game at all.

I pc game so i can just play music in the background straight from youtube, on my games playlist I have almost every ace combat 0 and 5 song plus mass effect songs, mind heist, the imperial march and some other star wars songs

I find I would rather just listen to the game music. Most of the time anyway.  

I rarely listen to music when I'm gaming because it's a bit distracting - but recently I've become obsessed with a song called Blue Skies by Jamiroquai (Flux Pavilion Remix). I listen to it non-stop while playing Halo: Reach. I turn the music volume down so it kinda sounds like background music.

I probably tend to listen to video game music while playing video games. And by that, I mean that I listen to soundtracks from games other than the one that I'm currently playing, if that makes sense.

My favorite soundtracks mostly come from Japanese games and their very talented composers, like Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series, Shadows of the Damned), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross), and Yoko Shimomura (Legend of Mana, Parasite Eve, Kingdom Hearts and a ton more) to name a few.

EMIN∃M(his old GOOD music of course), Disturbed, B.o.B, or various other artist in the hard rap genre.

I don't listen to music while gaming, I prefer to enjoy the soundtrack that the game itself has to offer. But for the heck of it, one time I was playing Resident Evil while listening to Rammstein. It was weird.

i tend to rely on the game, though admittedly some can grate like racing titles. that said, wasn't daft punk the tron legacy musicians? one of the best scores in a long while.

For older games they generally have a good soundtrack like Banjo Kazooie and Final Fantasy games so I don't need a soundtrack for those but newer games is a different story.  I love listening to progressive bands while playing games some of the ones I choose are Opeth, Dreamtheatre, and Porcupine Tree.
