Don't slack off(especially when the boss is looking), and learn all you can anout your position so you're not totally useless

I need a bit of help here....

1. Try everything. Never, ever let your manager or another Game Advisor do a task for you. Have him/her there guiding you so that you can learn more quickly, especially at the register.

2. Talk to everyone. The best way to learn about dealing with customer service is by actually talking to customers. If you're putting games out or alphabetizing, drop what you're doing when someone walks into the door and greet him.

3. Never be afraid to ask a question, even if it seems dumb. If you don't know the answer to a customer's problem, find someone in the store who may.

4. Don't be afraid to be (slightly) pushy. Talk to customers on the floor about games coming out that may interest them, tell them about the subscription service and reservation program way ahead of time. That way when they're at the register, they've already got some of GameStop's benefits in mind. If you're told no, don't take it as an offense and just keep trying.

5. Just be yourself. Be happy, and don't let rude customers or coworkers get in the way.

Chances are if you're starting now, you're probably seasonal help. If you do well in the few hours that you will work, you'll be kept as a long-term employee. So keep it in mind-- working is a competition, no matter how relaxed an atmosphere it is. (I worked there for two and a half years, so if you have any questions at any point about anything, send me a message and I'll be happy to help.)

I need a bit of help here....

be nice to the customers and try to help them in anyway possible, if somethings u can't solve happens tell them u will find someone or someway to help them solve their problem. people in their right mind would not be angry instead they would be really appreciative and happy.

I need a bit of help here....

Customer service, approachability, and how much you play and know about video games. That's about it.

I need a bit of help here....

you lucky SOB.
