  • AMC premiered a trailer for the television adaptation of The Walking Dead at this year's Comic-Con and oh my f*** does this look awesome! Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) will be Writing and Directing the series while Robert Kirkman (who created TWD) will Executive Produce.

Anyone else excited for this? I'm looking forward to how complex the characters become as the show goes on and how they adapt to a world filled with zombies. Series starts in October.

  • Like I was telling Stump, the fact that they're changing up the storyline here or there to keep the fans of the comic on their toes sounds completely awesome to me. Plus, Kirkman has said that every change made has been for the better. I was kind of worried that the guy they have playing Rick wouldn't be able to pull it off, but from the trailer it looks like they nailed it.

Also, the poster from Comic-Con is probably the first poster to ever get me excited for a show. Posting it shortly.

  • The comics are amazing, I'm currently on Vol. 6 and I love it. The trailer for the show looks great and I like who they got to play Rick. AMC does a good job with their shows too, Breaking Bad is seriously one of the best things on TV right now, and TWD I'm sure will be up to the same quality. October couldn't come soon enough.

  • I'm seriously considering trying to find the filming location and crash the party. I recognize places in that trailer and I think they're still here in Atlanta.

  • On the Set of Feature - "Bicycle Girl"

The video shows the make-up process of creating "Bicycle Girl". the first zombie we see in the show. It's some really impressive stuff.

  • AMC has released a higher quality version of the same trailer from Comic-Con. They've also announced that the series will premier on Halloween with a 90 minute movie! Seriously can't wait for this.

  • Looks awesome, its the best comic there is and I literally can not wait to see this.  Given Frank Darabont and AMC's history of greatness I'm expecting something epic.

  • Yeah this will easily be the best new show of the fall season. It's gonna be great.

  • Simply because of the involvement from Frank Darabont i will watch this.

  • This will no doubt be a great show, but the show will be restricted to cable standards (which are basically non-existent, but still). One of the gripping parts of the comic to me is the stark violence with the art style. And a cable series can not show the level of violence, language, etc. found in the comics. :/

Actually, AMC told the creators to go as far as they wanted to for the series. If you've seen their most recent shows (Mad Men, but more so Breaking Bad), then you can see that they can get away with more than you think.  From what I've heard so far, it's pretty gruesome.

  • I'm interested now. I know FX has shows that push the envelope. Hopefully this will too.

  • The trailer was drool worthy due to how great the zombies looked alone.

  • Agreed

  • its looking great, anyone else notice that he kinda has a heart to heart with the bicycle girl (who he killed in the comic  as a display of mercy) seems like they may be spelling out that he's shooting her as a mercy, which may take some of the impact away, but I trust Darabont, and I get that they have to add and change things up to make it more marketable as a series, as long as over time they start making it as fearless and unique as the comic this'll be good!
