The lights are on
Several members of the GI community have "complained" about our forum implementation. Now, while we don't have time to "fix" it, I was curious, what's your favorite forum site/software/service? I have 2, StackOverflow and Reddit. What's yours?
I like our forums just fine. What were they "complaining" about?.
Like a lot of us said before, the old site used Lithium and it just made everything look more organized, easier to read, and the overall set up of the forums were better, which are all issues with this one. Lately, I've been going to Neogaf more because it's easy to read and people actually use it.
4ch......i mean hmm I enjoy ign to a extent but not as much. I do like Gamespot as well. Cant think of many more sites you guys would know of besides shoryuken.net and a few other anime and fighting game sites. and the sonicstadium.org
and software not sure what you mean by that.
As for service Id say firefox.
I'm a Legendary GI member.
sorry dp
We'd complain less if there was less to complain about...thats just common sense...O.o ;) (This is a sarcasticly playful comment...don't take it to heart.)
I still use GIO more then any other forum. I can't really say it's what it used to be, but it at least functions...and the posters aren't doo doo heads...yeah...i went there. :P
Kill'em with kindness, it's a slow painful death.

I'd have to agree with Treestump and say Lithium which is what the forums used before the redesign. Here are some examples of that software that I really like:
TomTom
Autodesk
BestBuy
Sky
I really like the way the TomTom and Sky forums look. Just very organized and user friendly. Lithium is just really good for "discussion" forums. Which this is.

who was the one to change it anyway
@Darth-Carbonite, complaints were very general about the forum UI.
@Meta77, I'm not at liberty to say who changed it:)
I think the history of the change focused around redesigning the site to look more modern in the 2007 time frame, provide social networking functionality and allow customization for an enterprise environment.
Thanks @Supersnake.
im sure i can piece together who changed it its not hard when you use simple elimination processing.
are you implying that I changed it?
Joey Guerra: are you implying that I changed it?
I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth but yes, yes he is.... maybe.
Ha! I was not responsible for the change. I wasn't even employed here when the site was revamped. That said, I am responsible for it now and want to make it better. This feedback is good. Thanks again.
