The lights are on
Probably the most wonderful thing about the Interwebs is that anyone, everyone has a voice if they want one. Perhaps we are devoid of a voice during our trek through the mundane waking hours of our lives (I am convinced that 85% of the population of Planet Earth fall neatly into the categorization of "mundane" - more on that later) and need an outlet for the words unspoken during the workings of our 9 to 5 for reasons of finanical stability. Maybe, just maybe, some of us are possessed of an ego that like a Great Dane, needs ample fieldspace to run rampant for fear of it destroying the furniture.
I myself, have my feet firmly planted in the latter with a banana peel between me and megalomanicalism at times. I try to utilize the technology at my disposal to my greatest benefit - be it monetary or validation of my existentialism in nature - and I use it with abandon simply because it's there and there is little, if any, consequence to it's use or overuse (besides alienation).
We have come a great many steps since the birth of the Internet as we know it. I recall with fondness the day that I was able to connect the World Wide Web back in 1994. Certainly, it has existed in one form or another since the 70s but realistically in its current incarnation since the early 90s where we've been able to connect vicariously through someone else's reality at least.
Even that day, where I was shown how to access the deepest depravity of the human mind (I mean, come on...when you first got on the web back then, it was Job #1 to find the sickest, grossest thing you could possibly find because it was like being let loose in a library of debauchery), I thought to myself: "Wow, and to think that almost 100 years ago, we had only just taught ourselves to fly".
An interesting milestone there. Less than 150 years ago, man learned how to fly.
Now, we are taking piloted flights to the moon and soon to Mars. Eventually, we colonize space on the backs of roving asteroids, carving out a human niche in every nook and cranny of our known solar system, according to the Carl Sagans and Nostradamuses of our history. But what brought us here?
Is it our incessant thirst for exploration? Our need to conquer? The perpetual hungrer of humankind to push the boundry of requirement into invention?
Perhaps. But certainly not without help along the way. It is my belief that we are here not because we are solely magnificent inventors, but because we are magnificent scavengers. Some may recall the so called "crash landing" of an alien spacecraft on Earth in 1947 where the US governement hid the findings of this reported crash under the guise of an "environmental balloon testing" only days after the Air Force had reported the confirmed sighting of a "UFO".
Ok, so there's an entire cosmos of opinion and speculation here as to the validity of the findings or claims of both sides of this equation. But there are some interesting tidbits of info that may offer up some controversial argument for the existence of such a calamity.
I started this post with the love of technology. So let's take a look at that spoken and utilized techology. Over the past 50 years, we have experienced an exponential surge in the growth of our techological acheivements. From the invention of the transistor radio to color TV, to flight, to silicon microchips, to CDs, DVDs, BluRay and so on and so on. I could scribe an exhausive list of technologies that we all use on a daily basis that came about in the last 50 years or so.
But, um...hadn't we just mastered the combustion engine when all of a sudden we become proficient at rocket propulsion and laser technology? Yup. Tis true. This all happened in the blink of an eye. Lo and behold, mankind all of a sudden becomes aware of, and practical in, the use of ultra-modern technologies that had (oddly) before not been available to us? How so? I mean if the first evidence of mankind attempting to fly using machinery was Leonardo De Vinci (1452-1519) in ancient Italy, why all of a sudden a massively advanced resurgence in the interest within the last 60 years?
The reason, I belive is that within the last 60 years, we have in fact, been visited by an alien species and that by way of some type of bargaining tool, we have come to reverse engineer their technology and are getting spoon-fed it through the nipple of our governing bodies. In fact, every so often, a sci-fi movie comes out that blows our collective minds because of its potential for reality. Matrix anyone? Not convinced? Tell me how we became aware of laser technology? the transistor radio? the TV? A CD? Internet? Silicon microprocessors? Pulse detonation propultion? Etcetera, etcetera.
My friends, we have been visited already by alien intelligence. Wanna know how I know?
I'm watching you listen to it on your iPhone.
Deeeeep...
Enigma's Blog
wow...how long has that been brewing?
"If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first"
About two thirds of the way in, I thought you might have something interesting going there. Then your whole attitude and writing style shifted from intellectual, perhaps too intellectual, to ravenous conspiracy theorist.
To the subject at hand though. Let me state, that mathematically speaking, it is beyond probable that there is other life forms in space on other planets. Exponentially less probable, but due to simple numbers still likely, is the existence of intelligent aliens.
No one will doubt that the last 100 years have been amazing in terms of technology. 100 years ago people were still using telegraphs, very few had telephones. Just 15 years ago cell phones were rare and expensive, and service was terrible. Today we have cellular phones that wirelessly connect to a fiber optic network to transmit data at rates faster than any internet connection available as recent as 10 years ago. I have at my feet a 10 year old computer (not the one I am using, of course). It has a 386 mhz processor with a 1gb hard drive. That was top stuff just 10 years ago, a big deal. Today my cell phone is more powerful.
But, I digress. I think it wrong to rob humanity of his ingenuity, because it was there long before we were supposedly visited by aliens. The Romans and Greeks both had ingenious inventors, and even had steam powered equipment. Humanity didn't see anything like that again until the 1800s, that's over a thousand year gap. Though our ever quickening progress through technology is inconsistent with Earth's history, I don't feel it necessary to rob humanity of its greatest technological achievements.
Besides, if we reverse engineered alien space ships, do you REALLY think we would have went to the moon in an Apollo rocket?
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

You should have blogged this. I wasn't ready for a lecture.
Yup you're right. Pluck out my eyes for forcing you to read it. My bad.
Now I have to read it, thanks.
Well it's either this or learn about free prescriptions to Viagra. Rock...hard place....Devil....deep blue sea....you get the picture.
Alright buddy I did the dirty dead of reading a long, and mean long post. Sorry I give you grief but I am dyslexic and reading pains me. ( I know its weird but maybe I am training myself.)You are right. all this crap is from the aliens. After watching the history channel, the science channel and the rest, you have to be stupid to not think there is some reverse engineering going on all over he world, not just area 51. You really don't think that Japan was never visited with all their knowledge. Anyway, the exponential growth can only be attributed to a higher being.....and I don't mean God.
Aliens have been helping out humanity through the millenia. How do you think the pyramids were built? Certainly not by dragging those ridiculously heavy blocks. Heck, we can't even build those pyramids with today's technology.
Still, I wouldn't rule out the idea that humans have been inspired without the help of aliens. After all, who gave the aliens the inspiration to build their technology? I'm talking about something called "infused knowledge." This would be knowledge given to us by those on The Other Side. Most people call it "Heaven" but I call it The Other Side or Home. Because that's really where we're from and where our real lives are. Our lives here are temporary, over there eternal. But getting back to aliens, yes I do believe that aliens have been trying to help us all along. And they're even trying to help us now. If you look closely enough.
If you want to see why we need to Fix Congress First! then watch this video.
Alright... the beginning and all is smart, yeah, yeah, and the alien thing is kinda... 'interesting', but could somebody please explain the last line to me? I don't get it.

At first I liked what you had to say about the internet. But then you started talking about all this crazy alien stuff. We have explainations for how all of our technology works. I'm skeptical of alien visitors, but reverse engineering alien tech is just too much.
And I'm pretty sure we could build a pyramid today. It's just that no nation would bother making a freakin' pyramid.
If you post it, they will troll.
