Have you ever played this one game that totally took over your time. I mean you were so dedicated to beating this game that you would do the following:

a) call in sick from work to beat more levels

b) play hookey from school

c) not answer your phone in fear that people might want to come over

d) pretend that your busy

e) all of the above

For me the game was bejeweled. Yes i wrote bejeweled. I would stay up late trying to win trophies telling myself just one more level. I told myself this until it was almost 5am in the morning.

As for your question, I've never done such. Mainly because I've missed out on the games that cause that and I really wasn't that into gaming for a long time. I don't like to admit my Dark Ages, but it's sadly true. The closest I've ever come to it is playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Pokemon Platinum for 4-12 hours in one day when I first got them.

Um well not all of those.... I pretended I was sick so I could go home early from school and ignored the phone during cutscenes that way i didnt risk skipping them. Thats it. I think the games was Metal Gear Solid 4

i had super smash bros delivered to my job. as soon as i received it I made up some excuse to go home and play it. sad, i know.
