I walk along a dirt road in the middle of the night. In my right hand is a flashlight, in my left is a crumpled up peice of paper. I am alone in this forest, and it is chasing me. I can't fight it. I can't look at it. I can't run from it. I dart into a house and  hide in the bathroom. I turn around and it is in the hall. My fate is sealed. Game over. Just another day playing slender.

Slender is an indie horror game created by Mark J. Hadley for the mac and PC. Here is the basic plot. You jump a fence into a forest to collect 8 notes about the mythical slenderman. Armed with only a flashlight and limited battery, you must find the 8 notes scattered around the gated forest while escaping the slenderman.

Unlike the action horror games of today like resident evil 5 and dead space, you are alone in this open world while being hunted by this thing. The more notes you find, the more info you get. And the more info you get, the scarier the slenderman seems.

The slenderman only moves when you aren't looking, but when you are looking, your sanity drains. When the slenderman either gets you or your sanity drains, you die. To complete the game, you must collect the pages and then you see the face of the slenderman. Then you wake up in the forest at daytime, finally escaping the slenderman.

Describing the game doesn't do it justice. If you are feeling courageous, check this gmae out. It is available for free download here. http://www.parsecproductions.net/slender/
