Frag Fest Presents: Gameinformer Online's Halo Reach Map Pack
When: March 4th @ 1:00 pm PacificWhat: Halo: Reach - Custom games
On March 4th @ 1:00 pm pacific (4 pm eastern) Sheriff Warbuff and Alek389 are hosting a Halo: Reach custom map Frag Fest. We are showcasing multiplayer maps and game modes created by our talented Gameinformer Community! This is your chance to show your GIO peers just how awesome you are at creating fun and intelligent multiplayer maps and modes. All of you budding designers out there have 23 days from now to dream, create and test maps before the event. I can't encourage you enough to reach out to other GIO members in helping to test your babies before the event. If we run into any issues during Frag Fest that require fixing, the group will move onto the next map.
I'm not a member of the Frag Fest Group - Easily rectified, go to the Frag Fest Group home page and click +Join on the right hand side of the page.
Do I have to create a map to play? - No. Myself and Alek389 have our own forge creations. So if nobody else creates any maps, we'll still have plenty to play.
What Halo Reach maps are eligible for this event? - Only maps that shipped on the Halo Reach disc are eligible. No DLC maps allowed. We are going to avoid alienating anyone who hasn't purchased DLC.I've never made a map before and I'm not sure how or where to start? - For now, utilize google to find Halo fansites dedicated to Halo Reach's Forge Mode. I intend to create a blog post to help aspiring designers, however the internet is already full of the useful information you need. I'll bet you could even find video tutorials. My map is finished, how do I get it submitted for the Frag Fest? - The #1 thing you need to do is upload your creation to your Halo Reach file Share. This allows the group leader to download your map at any time; even in the middle of the event. ONLY AFTER your files are uploaded to your fileshare, leave a comment on the GIO Map Pack submission thread with a link to your map.Guidelines for Map Creations
As always ask any questions you have in the comments. We are more than 3 weeks away from this event so anything is subject to change.
