The lights are on
Burn it into your mind curious humans... take all the time you need.
GameInformer has many different things to cater to it's audience. One of which is their weekly podcast. The podcast is great and all, but it lacks community voice. On the other hand, that's not the official GI podcast objective so it's not really a fault.
Coming in January or slightly before, a few community members are going to present a community based podcast. It will be a panel of 6 people, all of whom are members of the GameInformer.com community.
To be clear this is not an 'officlal' podcast of any kind.
No, we're not working with or through any staff members, we're not backed by GameStop in anyway, nor do we have anyone who is a gameinformer.com moderator on the panel. This is completely independent from the site and magazine outside of the community itself.
But I hear the question being asked "Who are these people?" We get that a lot, being ninjas and all but years of training have tempered our will and we won't tell you until we're ready.
For the time being we can tell you a little bit about our format.
We're going to be looking at:
Active threads that have relevance to the game industry, sparked interesting debate making valid points, and / or also pertain to methods and modes of gaming.
Game / Industry related blog posts on this site that pose interesting ideas, explore trends and direction, concepts, and news. On occasion authors of covered blogs may be contacted to join in the discussion and further discuss their points and answer questions regarding their ideas and thoughts on the items in the episode.
I know, "How do you get on when the time comes", right?
Well, we don't take applications and we're not fond of begging. We'll let you know if something catches our 12 discerning eyes. The best way to ensure that we see you - create solid, relevant and well informed blogs or create a thread that fosters eventful discussion about things that matter.
So, if you're happy and you know it - clap your hands.
*clap, clap*
I look forward to whom you guys will be choosing. Happy hunting GI.
We're not a part of GI... we're community members but we're unofficial and not attached to GI.
Whoops, my bad, still, happy hunting/scouting.
Whoops, my bad, still, happy hunting/scouting. *Clap , Clap*
*clap, clap* take double the dose.
*Clap, Clap*
Oh, wait, sorry, brooksee. You were saying?
*CLAP CLAP* This is cool!!
*Clap, Clap, Clap* aw, crap. i messed up.
On another note, will you guys be paying attention to people who comment a lot, but don't nessecarily start blog/forum conversations? That just occured to me, and i think you might miss someone good that way. Just my opinion, however.
Wow, I totally missed the reason for the clapping... Someone slap me.
*clap clap clap*
Wahooooo.

Comments are part of what make a a forum thread move and evolve (or devolve)... so even a mildly mundane topic can be sparked to life by the right comment, giving up some great point. To answer the question - yes... we'll see comments. They won't be a focus, but they'll be part of the discussion and brought up in terms of how people have felt or what they're saying.
*clap,clap*
Wonder who they have their eyes on.
A better question is who we don't have our eyes on - it's a 6 person list.
I'm clapping thunderously for you. I wish you had your eyes on me, though. I'd love to get involved with a podcast other than the one I host at Spawn Kill.
Currently Ms. Vincent we're not taking applications... sorry. However, on our other blog post I'm sure you'll be able to find out much more and get answers to a couple of questions regarding our efforts (there's even a FAQ, yay!)
