User Review Herding - 01/07/12

It's the first User Review Herding of the year. Excited? I know I am. Sadly, with coming off of the holidays, the amount of user reviews was quite low this week. It was difficult to pinpoint which games were reviewed the most since none were reviewed more than twice. In that case, I decided to skip that particular state in order to save space. However, there were a few great reviews to find and here they are.

Super Mario 3D Land

A Game Worthy of the Name "Mario"
Blaze6106, who is becoming quite the member of the herd, gives us his review of the star studded Super Mario 3D Land. With an intro that gives us a little trip down memory lane, blaze gives us a detailed account of this great Mario experience and even reveals some throwbacks to previous games in the series.

A 3D Super Mario Game That's Surprisingly Average
Though most people have fallen in love with Super Mario 3D Land, Andalusia had a much more mundane experience. This user shows us a different side as they explain why this Mario game falls short of its predecessors.

Fallout 3

Survival of the Fittest
Bethesda’s Fallout 3 gave us a hopeless, savage world of post apocalyptic creatures and dangers littering the landscape. In this review, Jonathan Gibson gives us their take on the game and tells us how this entry in the series is quite possibly the epitome of survival games.

Crysis 2

Crysis 2: The Story of a Super Suit
Crysis 2 is quite a game with many great game mechanics, but as Jack, The Quixotic Gamer reveals, it is anything but perfect. Jack explains how the different methods of approaching situations in the game keep the gameplay interesting, but can’t keep some of the flaws concealed.

The Force Unleashed

The Force Unpolished
Many gamers had a great time with the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. However, markus1142 shows us that it isn’t always a blast to go back and play old favorites, as he details the “mess” that is The Force Unleashed.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

My Arkham Asylum Review
It may be a little short, but Josh gives a well written review of Batman: Arkham Asylum as well as a good explanation of why he awarded Arkham City’s predecessor a perfect score on the Game Informer scale.

Driver: San Francisco

Driver San Francisco: An Unbelievable Ride...Literally
Driver: San Francisco has met with mostly positive critique. Williamson70 gives us the good and the bad in their review of the latest installment in the Driver franchise, from fun but ridiculous to an all around solid game.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Lord of the Rings: War in the North PS3 Review
Newcomer to the community Skedastic makes it on to our list with his first review, Lord of the Rings: War in the North. War in the North received mostly average to negative responses from critics and Skedastic discusses some of the disappointments they had with the game.

Hope you enjoyed these great reviews. Be sure to check back next Saturday for the next installment of User Review Herding. Also, remember to send me your feedback and/or any user review recommendations to my profile. You can also find me on Twitter if you desire. Catch you guys later.
