Custom GI Avatars: STAR WARS

A Prophecy that, misread, could have been...

But luckily I don't believe in hokey religions and ancient weapons. So, in honor of May the Fourth here is a set of Star Wars themed Custom GI Avatars!

Darth Vader

Most likely the most recognizable Star Wars character and certainly a world recognized icon. This is one bad sith.

He was the first avatar I worked on for this post. I thought his helmet would be challenging and if I could pull that off decently I could most likely handle any crazy Star Wars character. I think I did okay, so I proceeded with the rest.

HK-47

Knights of the Old Republic series

If memory serves correctly, this was actually the first requested Star Wars character, I don't remember who requested it, but the poor man has been waiting for years...

I actually never heard of HK-47 until he was requested.

Lando Calrissian

You've got to love the smooth Billy Dee Williams as Lando.

I had planned to include his cape/cloak thing, but I was having some trouble getting it to look right so I ditched it at the last moment. Less is more, right?

C-3PO

This somewhat awkward-comedy relief character has an awkward face that I never realized how awkward it was until I had to emulate it. These avatars aren't supposed to have eyes, but Threepeeoh just looked weirder without them.

R2-D2

Bleep weep wooo. Since I R2 doesn't have hands I had to decide between drawing those robot arm clamps coming from those side compartments or something more unique and iconic. I think it turned out alright.

Boba Fett

The awesomeness to screen time ratio is pretty lopsided, but I guess that just makes our time with him all the more special.

Dash Rendar

Shadows of the Empire

I have very few memories of this game, but one that sticks out quite vividly is me running for my life from an angry wampa. I didn't know that button would release him from his cell...

Kyle Katarn

Jedi Knight series

This is my personal favorite Star Wars character and that's not just because we have the same given name. So far I've only played Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast but I've been looking for the other games for a while. Kyle Katarn has a very interesting background that is interwoven all through the Star Wars universe.

Starkiller

Force Unleashed series

This secret apprentice of Darth Vader is from one of the more recent Star Wars games. He's pretty much Samuel Witwer  playing a Star Wars character. I think this was the easiest avatar to do as there is a lot of simple detail going on.

Jar Jar Binks

Now, I could have saved this last spot on the set for someone awesome like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Admiral Ackbar, Jabba the Hut, Princess Leia, or Darth Sidious or something like that. I could have used this spot for any one of a hundred Jedi Masters, bounty hunters or droids. or strange alien beings and the like. But I didn't. I thought it would be funny, but it just made me sad and I'm sorry...

Alright, so there we go. I hope you enjoyed this particular post. And if you don't like Star Wars I'll probably have something for you next month. As always I do take requests. I do plan to start posting regularly again. I have made close to 300 avatars so far and you can check the rest out here --> http://www.gameinformer.com/members/turdfurgy/blogs/default.aspx
