This did not publish the first time, so let's try this again.

I needed a picture, and am into LA Noire right now, OK?

"So, I have never written a blog before, so here goes nothing."

Oh, goodness... Just now out of morbid curiosity, I decided to venture all the way back to some of my first blogs on This trip down memory lane was not a pleasant one. "Wanna", various actions denoted with stars, little faces made out of parenthesis and hyphens*, it was all there in cringe-inducing glory. I didn't even bother to include apostrophes half the time.

I was infatuated with Halo at the time. I even went so far as to say Halo 4 had the best story in anything I'd ever played, italicized of course. Had to hammer that point home. I also appeared to have been on that Call of Duty-hating bandwagon, which is ironic considering I long for the days of Modern Warfare and Black Ops now.

One thing that did not change over the years was my love for the PlayStation Vita. I had to part ways with my handheld last summer, after a trade-in deal too good to pass up came my way. I was, and will always be, a staunch defender of the system. However, after five years of ownership, three of which saw practically no support from Sony, the Vita sat in its case for months at a time.

As of January 2018, I own a Nintendo Switch. So far, the console has filled that handheld void left by the Vita, though I still plan to pick up Sony's last handheld again at some point.

Scrolling through the pages, I see I wrote something about "5 Franchises That Should Come to the Vita". I might just end up reviving that idea at a later date, albeit with a different handheld in its place.

For a few months, I ran a series called "User Discussion" with fellow user RedQueen. The two of us would come up with a theme, a set of questions, and then randomly select users to interview. We'd compile the answers in a blog, and then advertise it heavily. I'm actually a little proud of what we accomplished, as the first several installments were quite popular by the look of it.

After that, the frequency of my writing dropped dramatically. I only published two pieces in 2015, and one in 2016. The latter of which was my Game of the Year list for 2015. It picked back up in 2017, with ten whole blogs written in the last year. I honestly don't remember writing some of these.

All of that leads me to today when, wracking my brain for a topic to write about, I made the decision to travel back to the genesis of it all. It is interesting to look back and see what I was into at the time. A sort of time capsule of my early GI years. I'm thankful that, despite the cringe, to have had the opportunity to write, chat, and enrich my gaming experience with this website, its editors, and users. I'm sad that activity among the community is quite low, but am grateful for the time we had.

I don't really know why I wrote this. Whether or not someone else finds this interesting, I enjoyed my walk down some-cringe-but-also-some-cool-stuff lane. Here's to a great 2018, everybody!

Please do not go read my old stuff. Or should I say, pwease.
