User Spotlight Episode 1: Amarok

Hello Gameinformer! Welcome to my first member spotlight. Today we are going to interview Amarok, a relatively new-ish member to the GIO family! Here 'a goes!

So, to start off, what is your real name, if you'd like to share it.

My name is Lorenzo, that’s all :)

Where are you from?

I’m from Lima, Perú.

Age? (Starting to sound more like a JOB interview)

I’m 20 years old.

What are some of your favorite hobbies?

Gaming and playing football! I game a lot more though! I only play football like twice a month.

When did you first join Gameinformer.com?

I think it was in the year 2010 but just recently I’ve been a more active user.

Who, or what, got you to join GIO?

When I bought my first GI magazine back in 2004, I knew I was reading something different. And then in 2009 I realized it had a web page! And in 2010 I decided to create a user.

Who was your first GIO friend?

That would be Warrior! Cool guy.

Who is your favorite Gameinformer editor?

There are too many to choose from, I just like them all. I love reading different perspectives when it comes to games. It would be cool if they started a spotlight with every GI editor just to talk about a game review so that each one could give his own opinion.

Do you have any blogs? Or herded ones?

Until now I’ve only written one blog and it was herded. It’s about the differences of PS All Stars and Super Smash Bros Brawl. Here is the link:

Alright, now we get into the bulk of the spotlight: games.

What got you started on gaming?

I think I started on my first PC.

What was your first game?

The first videogame I ever played? That has to be Mario, first one I believe. What an amazing game.

What was your favorite past-gen system?

The PS2, just to many amazing games on that system. And my favorite game? Shadow of the Colossus

What current-gen systems do you own?

PS3, Wii and PS Vita

What is your favorite current- gen console and game?

PS3 and definitely Bioshock. (Waiting so bad for Infinite!)

Any least favorite games?

I don’t really have a least favorite game. But I guess I would have to choose FarCry Vengeance on Wii or Superman for N64. Sad because FarCry is one of my favorite series and it sucks that this entry was really bad.

Do you have any favorite Trophies or Achievements?

I don’t really care much for that kind of stuff. But it may be the “easiest achievement ever”. I think you get that just by pressing start in The Simpson’s game. If I’m wrong please let me know.

What is the best gaming moment you've experienced?

There are so many. One if those is the end of Shadow of the Colossus. (SPOILER) At the end of the game when you become Dormin, that was breathtaking. But if I had to choose one, (SPOILER about MGS4) it would be the Metal Gears battle from MGS 4. Just being able to control Metal Gear REX is enough for me to say that’s my favorite gaming moment.

What about a best GIO moment?

I think it would be when I found out my blog was herded. That made me really happy :)

What are some things you expect in the next generation of consoles?

Just want the best focus on detail and animations as possible. I’m good with everything else.

What is the WORST gaming moment you have had the pleasure (Haha) of experiencing?

The worst game I’ve played is FarCry Vengeance for Wii. But the most frustrating moment I’ve played is from God of War. There is this level where you have to push this cage containing a guy so you can sacrifice him. The thing is that you have to push it on an inclined surface, and while you do that, monsters appear to beat the living hell out of you! And each time a monster hits you, THE STUPID CAGE DROPS BACK TO THE BEGINNING!..... It was awful.…

Well, I hope you enjoyed my very first user spotlight. Special credit to Amarok, for allowing me to ask him so many questions. And in the words of Porky Pig: Th-Th-Thats all folks!
