As most of you are aware of by now, Microsoft is shutting down the original Xbox Live servers on April 15th. While this won't affect many of you, there is still a rather sizable group of people that still go back and play those old games once in a while. Myself included.

Of course, the main drawback of losing the original Xbox Live in the first place is losing the ability to play Halo 2.  From now on, the use of your downloaded maps will be limited to playing split-screen with friends.

While nothing will quite make up for its loss, Bungie is planning to send Halo 2 out with a bang. More details will be revealed at an unspecified later date, but the post on tells the community to "mark your calendars now - on April 14th let's all rally to go online for one last hoorah. One final farewell and one final opportunity for all of you to kick our asses at Halo 2."

Nothing else has been revealed, but at least we can destroy Bungie in a Halo 2 deathmatch one last time. It'll help take the pain away. Trust me.

Hope to see you there.

The graphics aren't as sharp as they used to seem, are they?
