It has the best games. I like the online play. Your console is played by nothing but 12 year olds. Y0r consol3 iz teh suXX0rz. All very valid reasons as to why you should swear your allegiance to a certain company blindly and put down others for their choice without any trueness. Too often you see people insulted for what they've chosen. So I am here to finally analyze all the major facets of the major consoles, with my vast stores of knowledge and superior intelligence, to once and for all tell you what console is best.
Exclusives: First of all, I doubt many would claim that 360 would hold the edge on this category. Their exclusives are few and far in between. Halo, Gears, Fable, and Alan Wake, these are pretty much all it has to its name, and even the quality of these varies. Now as for PS3 and Wii, these are tied neck and neck in my opinion. Sony has Jak & Daxter, Ratchet And Clank, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and God Of War. Nintendo has Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, and Donkey Kong Country. depending on what your in the mood for, either of these are stellar examples of a strong lineup of first-party franchises.
EDGE: Wii and PS3
Online: As far as the Wii goes, LOL! Now, as for PS3 and 360, the PS3 DOES have free online play, but unfortunately it is not as convenient as the 360's. Plus, the 360 has a much larger user base in the US and a lower starting price, so there is a much higher chance that if some of your friends are playing multiplayer, it is on Microsoft's console whether it be one of the console exclusives or COD.
EDGE: 360
Graphics: BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-RAY
EDGE: PS3
Functionality: I know it's looked down on a bit by gamers, but there's no denying extra apps and functions of systems make them more desirable. While the PS3 and Wii are fairly bare-bones, 360 has a wide variety of social, video, music, and news apps.
Motion Controls: Kinect, Wiimote, or Move? Which would win? The Wii remote is used for Skyward Sword. Kinect is used for Kinect Star Wars. Move is used for uhh...umm..., ....
EDGE: Wii
Well, the time has finally come to declare a winner. This is the definitive answer on the subject, and can never be disputed again. With my greatness (I'm the best on the site), I will figure this out for all you beneath me. *sneers* The answer is...
There isn't one.
Too often, everywhere I turn, I see people arguing and bickering, using some of the stuff I've posted above as reasons why their camp is best. I'm not saying that they aren't legitimate thoughts to sway people to a certain console, they are. And I know people are invested heavily into whichever one managed to sway their wallets first, and wish for other people to join them. But honestly, when all is said and done...
We're all gamers.
Be us on Wii, PS3, 360, PC, 3DS, Vita, iPhone, or Atari Jaguar, we're all gamers. People who look to an interactive experience to dive into, to forget about their worries and experience another person's vision. Does it really matter in the end whether you have superior graphics, the best exclusives, or the best online? No. We ought to be united by the love we share, the one we've fought tooth and nail for from everyone from the government to overzealous parents to profit mongerers and a huge market crash to keep. We shouldn't be firmly packed in our own little groups eyeing each other with distaste and distrust. When you look at it to the core, it's all code, every bit of what we love, placed on a Blu-Ray, GD-Rom, DVD, digital download, or cartridge. The wizards known as developers bend and twist this code to give us something we love in all of these consoles. Deep down, we are all one.
Isn't it time we started acting like it?

NOTE: I'm backed up on replying to comments on my last few blogs, but I'll reply to them soon and let you all know, I swear! :o

ORLY??? Even hardcore Call of Duty fans who only play Call of Duty?
At the base of it all, I suppose we are. We all share a common interest in video games, and no matter what we love about games, we stand side by side in a love for the same thing.
You make a very applicable point in your last couple paragraph, very powerful words. :) Enjoyable read. :3
Another solid blog, although there are a couple of areas where I disagree with you. However the overall message of your blog is sound and hard to argue with. Honestly when I heard you were making this I was afraid you were actually going to choose a best console, and thankfully you didn't.
You have teh Batmanz. It don't matter what console you use... YOU HAVE TEH BATMANZ.
Therefore, you are awesome and nothing can argue with your impeccable taste in superheroes. Brava, Stranger.
wow this is so true i hope this stops the Console war going on and let us get back to what we do best, GAME
You know there was a tough console war between the SNES and the Genesis, right?!?
Nice blog.
It all comes down to personal preference. Do your own research; that's what the internet allows you to easily do. Then make your own decision. If you're not satisfied with your console, SWITCH. "Allegiances" only hurt you in this regard.
I see the truth in your words.
You forgot the Gameboy, that's cutting edge technology............
I like 'em all... Except the wii (and I'm a huge Nintendo fan), just hate motion controls
I agree, I hate it when people start becoming fanboys of something. Both of the consoles have good sides and bad sides to it. And sometimes I prefer one to the other but I generally like them both. Good post.
Good blog!
I think anything to do with mobile gaming it stupid though!
I absolutely loved this blog to pieces! You put into words perfectly what I've been trying to get others to understand for awhile now. Unfortunately, there's always going to be knuckleheads who won't ever get this concept down. Anyway, splendid job, dear sir!
