Hello Internet, I'm 'The Enemy Gate is Down,' and this is my 31/31 for January 2014. Y'all know how these things work; I'll post a new blog for every day of the month until the end of the month. A few of the Blog's I've written, were done so ahead of time. But considering how much the site has been glitching recently, can you blame me for putting off posting them separately?   

Now, as you can probably see, it doesn't say 31/31 in the title for this blog, and that's because I'm not counting in the traditional way. There are 31 days in January using base-10 (ten numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), but I'm not using base 10. For this 31/31, I'm going to be using base-12 (twelve numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, Ɛ). Those last two numbers at the end are called 'Dek' and 'El' respectively.

Now, some of you might wonder what's so great about base 12 that I would use it. Well, I would explain it to you myself, but I think it would be easier for us all to understand it in Video format, so without further ado, take it away Numberphile!
