Guess That Gamer (OCT)...

After nine episodes, hundreds (or maybe thousands) of views and handfuls of comments, I think it is safe to say if you're reading this you know what to expect. You may recall last's months episode was perhaps the most difficult episode to date and this one doesn't seem to be any easier. I'll apologize up front and wish you all happy guessing.

As a reminder, the blog is basically a Game Informer community edition of the "20 Questions" game...

Twenty Questions is a spoken parlor game which encourages deductive reasoning and creativity. It originated in the United States and escalated in popularity during the late 1940s when it became the format for a successful weekly radio quiz program. In the traditional game, one player is chosen to be the answerer. That person chooses a subject but does not reveal this to the others. All other players are questioners. They each take turns asking a question which can be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No." In variants of the game multiple state answers may be included such as the answer "Maybe." The answerer answers each question in turn. If a questioner guesses the correct answer, that questioner wins and becomes the answerer for the next round. If 20 questions are asked without a correct guess, then the answerer has stumped the questioners and gets to be the answerer for another round.

You may recall, the questions are generic and short enough so the answers aren't glaringly obvious who the person is. I'm sure you can identify many of the bloggers and commenters here by their writing style, but with a one word answer, obviously that's not quite as revealing.  So yeah, short questions = short answers. Good luck. You'll need it. And with each of the questions, I provide a comment after the fact, just to kind of throw my thoughts on the answer into the mix - for the mystery gamer and the rest of the community to ponder.

Let's roll...

Guess That Gamer (OCT) - 20 Questions

1. Do you care about the mixed reception of Resident Evil 6 and the scattered review scores?

Not in the least.

(I do find it interesting that some say it's rubbish while others are raving about it.)

2. Favorite color of Yoshi?

Red for the fireball, yellow because it pleases me.

(I guess I just expect him to be green.)

3. The Wii U Gamepad - thumbs up or thumbs down?

Thumbs down.

(I dunno. I said thumbs down on the Wii and got burned, so I'm hesitant to doubt them again.)

4. Halo 4 - Not Buying, Might Buy, Must Buy or Stand in Line at the Midnight Release?

Not buying.

(You're dead to me! Heh Heh. Just kidding. I've ALWAYS gone to the midnight release. Always.)

5. How many video games have you finished this year?

Four.

(That's a respectable number.)

6. Have you ever been carded when purchasing a video game?

Several times.

(I can honestly say I only recall one time and it was at Target. I guess I just look old, heh heh.)

7. Digital distribution is inevitable - how long (if ever) until it is fully adapted?

7-10 years.

(That's a safe estimate. I can see that.)

8. If you could have any video game character's autograph, who would it be?

Young Da Vinci from Assassins Creed 2.

(Ah, nice...that would be cool...very cool. And potentially lucrative.)

9. Have you ever used the Konami Code on Contra?

Yes.

(Me too! I chuckle when I see people say it gives you infinite lives; not quite.)

10. What's the last game you played where you had to swim?

The worst part of Uncharted 3.

(Does Uncharted 3 have a "worst part"? If you're wondering mine, heh heh, MINECRAFT!)

11. Quick Time Events (QTE) - On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best) do you like them?

8.

(I took you for an 8.5 but 8 works too.)

12. Do you game on a portable device and if so what is it?

A unused GBA and PSP collect dust.

(Ah, so I'm not the only one, eh? I have PSP paperweight.)

13. What feature besides playing video games do you use your console or PC for the most?

This.

(Well played!)

14. If Game Informer was off the air for 24 hours, where would your browser point?

I'd play games.

(Why didn't I think of that?)

15. The Walking Dead season 3 is set to premier October 14th - Yay, Boo, Who Cares or What Is It?

Yay.

(Yay is right! I totally agree...)

16. Predictions on the most popular video game character Halloween disguise?

Female: Lara Croft, Male: Tie between Ezio and Batman.

(Wow, I wasn't even thinking boy and girl costumes...good call.)

17. Did you play the original X-COM; do you have any plans to play the new one?

Yes to both.

(Me too! Can't wait to buy it and play it.)

18. Did you both read and play Rainbow Six?

No to both.

(Egads? No to both? I'm surprised.)

19. Melee weapon of choice?

Mehrunes Razor.

(I had to look it up. Skyrim, eh? Not surprised you picked a blade.)

20. Would you rather see an Uncharted 4 or a God of War 4?

<Head Explodes> If forced, Uncharted 4.

(With zero hesitation for me...absolutely Uncharted!)

This concludes the tenth edition of Guess that Gamer. I hope everyone enjoyed it and I look forward to the guesses. Remember, you get out of the community what you put into it, so join in on the fun and take a guess. Who knows, maybe episode eleven will feature you? I'll post the answer in a day or so.

Cheers.
