Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, gamers of all ages - I present to you the ninth episode of Guess that Gamer. I'm not even going to predict whether this week's episode is difficult or not, because every time I do that, one of the first few answers is usually a correct guess. But I do hope it proves to be somewhat difficult though, but even more than that, I hope you find it entertaining as you learn more about a member of the community.

As a friendly reminder, the previous members to be featured in this series are listed below and are not eligible to be featured again, so if you pick them, you do so at your own risk.

As a reminder, the blog is basically a Game Informer community edition of the "20 Questions" game...

Twenty Questions is a spoken parlor game which encourages deductive reasoning and creativity. It originated in the United States and escalated in popularity during the late 1940s when it became the format for a successful weekly radio quiz program. In the traditional game, one player is chosen to be the answerer. That person chooses a subject but does not reveal this to the others. All other players are questioners. They each take turns asking a question which can be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No." In variants of the game multiple state answers may be included such as the answer "Maybe." The answerer answers each question in turn. If a questioner guesses the correct answer, that questioner wins and becomes the answerer for the next round. If 20 questions are asked without a correct guess, then the answerer has stumped the questioners and gets to be the answerer for another round.

You may recall, the questions are generic and short enough so the answers aren't glaringly obvious who the person is. I'm sure you can identify many of the bloggers and commenters here by their writing style, but with a one word answer, obviously that's not quite as revealing.  So yeah, short questions = short answers. Good luck. You'll need it. And with each of the questions, I provide a comment after the fact, just to kind of throw my thoughts on the answer into the mix - for the mystery gamer and the rest of the community to ponder.

Let's roll...

Guess That Gamer (SEP) - 20 Questions

1. Will Nintendo surprise the industry again with the Wii U or will it have a lackluster release?

It's hard to say. It won't be as successful as the Wii, but will have a solid core audience.

(I'd agree. I think we learned our lesson from the Wii and won't be caught off guard again. I think it'll do okay.)

2. Game of the Year 2012 prediction?

Assassin's Creed III

(That's as good of prediction as any I suppose. Although Borderlands 2...)

3. Favorite character from the Lord of the Rings?

(He was pretty epic, wasn't he? But even prior to the movies when we just had the books, I've always been a fan of Legolas.)

4. Sometimes brothers fight - who would win in a brawl between Mario and Luigi?

(Short and stocky versus tall and lanky. I'm going to go with Mario because Luigi seems kind of timid.)

5. Star Wars or Star Trek?

Star Wars

(Phew. I was worried you might get this one wrong. I mean, the answer is obviously Star Wars.)

6. You get to pick the color and give it a video game inspired name for the next generation console (for example - I'll take my Playstation 4 or Xbox 720 in Bayonnetta Black.)

Hmmm, how about Infamous Ivory?

(Awesome! I almost listed Spartan Steel Grey instead of Bayonneta Black, but I love Infamous Ivory.)

7. Favorite and least favorite genre of video game?

Favorite genre: role playing. Least favorite: Sports (thanks to the spam :P)

(Hah Hah...the sports spam ads getting to you too, eh?)

8. You win a $200 giftcard to any video game company's store, but can't buy a game with it. What do you buy?

I buy a new flash drive and a year's of Xbox Live.

(I could find all sorts of things I'd want to buy in Valve's store, and none of it would be games.)

9. Are video games art, yes or no? If yes, list one game as an example.

Some are, some aren't, so yes, conditionally. Favorite example? GTA IV.

(Nice answer and kind of a surprising example. I haven't played the game, but from what I've read and heard about it, I certainly can't argue it.)

10. Do you use headphones when gaming?

(I never used to, but now I'll never go back. It's mandatory if I'm playing online.)

11. What game are you eagerly awaiting?

That's tough; either AC III or Halo IV.

(I can see that. Halo is always good in my book.)

12. Have you ever played a game online and made somebody rage quit? Have you rage quit?

Yes, in Modern Warfare. I never rage quit.

(Never? I have rage quit, and caused gamers to rage quit...playing Team Fortress 2. Come to think of it, I've rage quit in quite a few games. I used to get so mad at Soul Caliber I'd storm out of the room.)

13. Would you rather be blissfully ignorant or miserably wise?

Miserably wise.

(I dunno, if you're ignorant, you probably wouldn't realize it. But yeah, I would agree with you.)

14. What is the scariest video game you have ever played?

Resident Evil Nemesis

(Haven't played it, but for me it was Dead Space...although I jumped a bunch playing the first Resident Evil game - that dog jumping through the window almost caused me to soil myself.)

15. Finish the sentence using a word in each blank, "I love games that make you (blank) when you (blank).

I love games that make you laugh when you die.

(Hah Hah...perfect! Brilliant answer.)

16. Have you ever rented a video game using Redbox or Gamefly?

(I got a trial subscription to GameFly as a birthday present awhile ago. It wasn't bad. I really want to try renting from the Redbox, but haven't either. I usually just buy them.)

17. Who do you think has the best shot at correctly guessing who you are?

Well, I'd say Mojo since he's been on a roll in this challenge.

(Yeah, I could've predicted that answer. I almost asked who you think has the second best shot...)

18. What's the last video game to make you laugh when you played it?

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword.

(Really? Not a game I expected - I have it so I will have to remember that when I get around to playing it. I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I did when I played Portal 2 - Cave Johnson's dialogue was hilarious.)

19. Bioshock was rated #3 on G4TV's Top 100 Games of All Time? Should it be higher, lower or was it just right?

It was just right.

(I'm playing it now, and I like it. But I think #3 is a bit high. I just think some of the other games in the top ten list are a little better...but it's certainly a close race.)

20. Do you listen to video game podcasts?

I check out the ones here at GIO, so yeah.

(To be honest, I never did until I came here. Now I listen to the official Game Informer products and those published by the user community.)

This concludes the nine edition of Guess that Gamer. I hope everyone enjoyed it and I look forward to the guesses. Remember, you get out of the community what you put into it, so join in on the fun and take a guess. Who knows, maybe episode ten will feature you? I'll post the answer in a day or so. Cheers.
