The lights are on
Veteran Member - Level 11
In January I started a new series called "Guess That
Gamer" and it was received with mostly positive results so I continued it
into February, which was also received rather well. If anything, those who
commented said it was "too easy" which is not a surprise. My goal was for it to
be more fun than ridiculously difficult. If you didn't catch those episodes of
what I plan on being a monthly feature, you can find them here: Guess
That Gamer (JAN) and Guess
That Gamer (FEB).
As a reminder, the blog is basically a Game Informer community
edition of the "20 Questions" game...
Twenty Questions is a
spoken parlor game which encourages deductive reasoning and creativity. It
originated in the United States and escalated in popularity during the late
1940s when it became the format for a successful weekly radio quiz program. In
the traditional game, one player is chosen to be the answerer. That person
chooses a subject but does not reveal this to the others. All other players are
questioners. They each take turns asking a question which can be answered with
a simple "Yes" or "No." In variants of the game multiple
state answers may be included such as the answer "Maybe." The
answerer answers each question in turn. If a questioner guesses the correct
answer, that questioner wins and becomes the answerer for the next round. If 20
questions are asked without a correct guess, then the answerer has stumped the
questioners and gets to be the answerer for another round.
Well, another month is here (and over half way gone) so it's
time for episode 3, complete with 20 new questions and another unknown member for
you all to try and guess this person's true identity. This time, I'm going to
try and make it a wee bit more difficult.
You may recall, the questions are generic and short enough
so the answers aren't glaringly obvious who the person is. I'm sure you can
identify many of the bloggers and commenters here by their writing style, but
with a one word answer, obviously that's not quite as revealing. So yeah, short
questions = short answers. Good luck. You'll need it. And with each of the
questions, I provide a comment after the fact, just to kind of throw my
thoughts on the answer into the mix - for the mystery gamer and the rest of the
community to ponder (my comments will be in parenthesis).

This concludes the third edition of Guess that Gamer. I
hope everyone enjoyed it and I look forward to the guesses. Remember, you get
out of the community what you put into it, so join in on the fun and take a
guess. Who knows, maybe episode four will feature you? I'll post the answer in
a day or so. Cheers.
I will go with God of Irony.
As always, it's a guess from me...mojo?
And I think that the perfect answer for question ten would Pac-Man.
If I were still around I would venture a guess but I don't know too many people anymore...
Still, somethings always remain a constant and Saint's community spotlights are always a delight to read. :)
Imma say Hist.
Perhaps... Eryos? I honestly have no idea.
I'm going to guess Hist. I'm still guessing here.
With the cosplay question, I was thinking it could have been blaze6106, since he likes Mass Effect and Garrus. The Star Wars questions and relative game in video game years threw me off, though. I have no idea :P
so lost.....all I could think is demon or whatever his name is now.
XD Man I...I dunno. This stuff is hard lol I'll go with...Demon?
I was thinking Hist too.
Gah for a while I was thinking mojo then I was thinking dean then I was thinking noob but I'm not sure. I'm gonna stick with noob....maybe.
I really have no idea who this is. These are entertaining posts to read, though.
Gamebeast, it's gotta be Gamebeast.
Once upon a time I would have an answer for this immediately.
