What's Happening

Guess That Gamer (FEB)...

Last month I started a new series called "Guess That Gamer" and it was received with mostly positive results. If you didn't catch the premier episode of what I hope to be a monthly feature, you can find it here: Guess That Gamer (JAN)...

In that blog, I described it as our version of the "20 Questions" game...

Twenty Questions is a spoken parlor game which encourages deductive reasoning and creativity. It originated in the United States and escalated in popularity during the late 1940s when it became the format for a successful weekly radio quiz program. In the traditional game, one player is chosen to be the answerer. That person chooses a subject but does not reveal this to the others. All other players are questioners. They each take turns asking a question which can be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No." In variants of the game multiple state answers may be included such as the answer "Maybe." The answerer answers each question in turn. If a questioner guesses the correct answer, that questioner wins and becomes the answerer for the next round. If 20 questions are asked without a correct guess, then the answerer has stumped the questioners and gets to be the answerer for another round.

Well, another month is here so it's time for episode 2, complete with 20 new questions and another unknown member for you all to try and guess this person's true identity.

You may recall, the questions are generic and short enough so the answers aren't glaringly obvious who the person is. I'm sure you can identify many of the bloggers and commenters here by their writing style, but with a one word answer, obviously that's not quite as revealing. So yeah, short questions = short answers. Good luck. You'll need it. And with each of the questions, I provide a comment after the fact, just to kind of throw my thoughts on the answer into the mix - for the mystery gamer and the rest of the community to ponder (my comments will be in parenthesis).

Let's roll...

Guess That Gamer (FEB) - 20 Questions

Blogger that games (I can see that.)

Puzzle game (Maybe a new genre - FPP?)

3. Lost or The Walking Dead?

Lost (Hmm, I dunno about that one.)

4. Who's the better leader, Jack Shephard (Lost) or Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead)?

Grimey (Agree with that, especially the later seasons of Lost.)

5. What actor/actress would play you in a movie?

6. Who wins the lawsuit between Activision and Infinity Ward?

Activision (They do have deeper pockets to pay those extensive attorney fees)

7. What game do you regret buying?

8. Half Life 3 in development or not?

In development (I know, it's rather obvious.)

9. If you had to give up movies or music, which would you pick?

Movies (Seriously?! Music for me...you can have music, I just want my movies.)

10. PS Vita - Win or Fail?

Nathan Drake (You make that sound so easy...I can't pick.)

12. Favorite character from Lord of the Rings?

14. What's your primary ringtone right now?

My phone is always on vibrate (A default kind of guy, would've never guessed that.)

Joker (Gasp. Even over Kelly...Sweet...Lovely...Kelly?!)

16. Joanna Dark or Lara Croft?

Joanna Dark. (Meh. No preference from me.)

17. Favorite actor to play Batman?

Christian Bale (No comment. #blamedean)

18. Favorite video game developer?

Person or studio? Person: Ken Levine, Studio: Valve (Solid picks. Can't argue that.)

19. What video game character would play you in a movie?

Alan Wake (Hah. Not a Lucasarts game?)

20. Last game you finished?

To the Moon (Oh, that's a dead giveaway.)

This concludes the second edition of Guess that Gamer. I hope everyone enjoyed it and I look forward to the guesses. Remember, you get out of the community what you put into it, so join in on the fun and take a guess. Who knows, maybe episode three will feature you? Cheers.

Im nit even going to answer!

  • indiejones84, BOOM!

  • I'm gonna have to go with Indie too.

  • I'm just gonna go out on a limb with this one and say it's Noobtubin8er
  • I can never get these because im not very active in the GIO community so I'm going to go with everyone else and say Indie...although Mojomonkey's comment is awfully conspicuous...

  • I'm still not too familiar with everyone, but I'll give it a go. I'll go with Enigma.

Edit: You know, I remember Enigma reviewing To the Moon not to long ago, but apparently I haven't been paying enough attention to Indie lol. I'm a good sport though. I won't change my answer.
  • Yeah it's good Ole' Indie...my coworker technically...

  • I'll be different and say Mojo.

  • Totally mojo

  • i'm gonna go out on a whim and say that it is definitely someone, definitely someone...8)

  • Based on everyone's comments it is either Indie or Mojo. Seeing as how they are in a podcast together, I have no way to distinguish between the two.
  • ...I'm gonna have to start looking at people's pages and being able to figure this out. You know, if you mention that OCD that makes ___ round to weird numbers, then it's a giveaway. If you said probably likes Indiana Jones, then it's still a dead giveaway.

But don't make this easy. In fact, I think you should make this harder.

  • Im going with Indie, On a side note To the Moon is one of those games ive been really interested in playing. I haven't watched Lost but I absolutely love The Walking Dead. Finally when it comes to favorite crew member, im gonna have to go with Garrus.
  • Mod

Wow. I have no idea...you have stumped me. :o

  • Might as well jump on the bandwagon and say Indie. Why break the flow?

Also, this segment is still great. Simple but personality defining questions.

  • Mod

I'll be the clever one and say it's whoever it is.

  • No clue lol

  • I'm gonna guess Indie Jones. He definitely likes his music, & he definitely played To The Moon.

No comment?!? HAHA! You love to troll me about Batman. :P

  • It's gotta be Indie!!! Even I remember that he has just finished playing that game.

And I have a memory like a...thing that things go through easily...I forget...what was I talking about?

  • Indie, wooo! He's the only dude I know that has talked about playing To The Moon (which I really want to get around to, at some point).
