Help Us Kiss Our Own Butts On The JACKED UP Indie & Mojo Show!

One year ago, Jeremy Brown and I started this weird little thing we like to call a podcast. Somehow, we fooled a bunch of people into listening to us ramble on and on about video games and any other junk that entered our brains. We are ever so grateful to all of you for putting up with our crap and giving us a reason to get out of bed in the morning. We like to show that gratitude every week with our shout-outs...

...BUT....

We're the ones who are entertaining you, so we're going to have you all do something nice for us for a change! (I'm totally just kidding, all of you do so much for us just simply by listening and being an awesome part of this community. Please don't take most of what I say here seriously).

So in the spirit of finally doing something to celebrate ourselves, we are looking for help. I put out a call on Twitter for people to give us ideas on how to celebrate the show and one suggestion courtesy of Dean aka Born4this, stood out as a fantastically self indulgent idea.

So here's what we're hoping to do... with your help:

We want you to send us a message about the show. These messages can be anything from sincerely explaining how we have improved the mundane daily grind that is your life, sharing your favorite (or least favorite) moments from the first year of the show or even just throwing some jokes and jabs our way and making fun of us for being such terrible podcasting amateurs. Seriously...don't take this seriously. Unless you really want to. But mostly, just have fun with it.... at our expense. Like a roast only less raunchy.

These messages should be concise, light-hearted, and fun. You can message me on here with them and we will read them on the show. Also, please don't post your messages as comments on this blog because I'd like the messages to be a surprise to Jeremy, since even though he knows about this idea, he doesn't yet know what everyone is going to say.

...OR... Option 2 (What I like to call, "the more fun option")

I will be on Skype all week, hanging out in the GIO chat room. (I'm always there, I just usually don't join the discussion. You can friend me on Skype (indiejones84) and we can have a quick voice call to record a message for the show that I will paste into our one year anniversary episode. That way you will get to hear your voice on the show without having to put in all the time to guest host.

This idea will not work without participation from our awesome listeners so hopefully you'll all oblige and indulge our egos just this once. That would really butter our biscuits.

On a serious note, (I know I said not to take me seriously, but this one is the exception) this show has always been a celebration of our amazing community, so our one year anniversary episode won't be about us as much as it will be a celebration of all of you. This way, we can celebrate both.

We will need to get the messages asap, ideally in the next week. So think about what you want to say and let me know if you'd like to meet on Skype. Thanks! Thank you so much in advance for your participation.

Oh yeah, one more thing:

As an incentive to get people to participate, Jeremy will be giving away something... to a random listener who sends us a message. I don't know what he's giving away yet but I'm sure it will be something good. Maybe an Xbox Live, PSN or Steam gift card.....Jeremy???? Help me out on this one....

Anyway

You Stay classy Game Informer

Thanks for stopping by

I love... the GIO community... and myself

Final thought: This was our first logo. It's.... special. Thank god for Turd Furgy

I am not sure what the giveaway will be...but there is a small CHANCE that it could be an amazingly awesome gift.  So participate just in case!

  • Butts have been kissed, ninja style!... That was my creepy comment for the day.

  • I'm very interested in what that giveaway is. But just being able to come up with something to say is better than getting that gift... So far I can't think of anything... I'll see what I can come up with. But I'm looking forward to this show.
