This was easily my favorite episode to record. Andy Gavin stopped by the Indie & Mojo headquarters to talk to us about the early days of Naughty Dog, leaving Naughty Dog and everything in between. It ended up being our longest episode, running at just over two hours. Even though it's long, it's still a great listen, because Andy is full of knowledge about game development and definitely opinionated.
He told us all about a secret dream project that he had been working on for a while with Naughty Dog that never came to fruition (at least not at Naughty Dog), he gives us his impressions of modern games, and tells us the origins of what so many of us consider to be the best developer alive.
Andy also wrote a book recently published called The Darkening Dream. It's an awesome adventure filled with Vampires and other creepy creatures like succubi which Andy explains to us in detail. Those things have a crazy origin story. Stay tuned to hear all the details about Andy's time at Naughty Dog and all about The Darkening Dream. If you would like to order the book or check out some of the fantastic contests Andy is running over at his website. Also follow Andy on Twitter @asgavin AND follow us if you don't already @indieandmojo and you will be in the running to win a copy of The Darkening Dream.
Of course we still did our shout-outs this week. So here we go!
