The US Open begins June 14 and ends June 17th. The USGA stages the Open, and it is usually scheduled so that it falls during the middle Sunday of June, just in time for father’s day. Any professional or amateur can play in the Open. However, you must either be fully exempt, or have won qualifying. You must be registered with the USGA handicap index and not have a handicap of more than 1.4. There are several ways to be exempt from the qualifying rounds. If you were a winner of the Open in the past 10 years you are exempt. If you are a winner or a runner up of the previous US Amateur and winners of the last US Senior Open along with several other golf tournaments.

The U.S. Open is one of the four major championships of men's professional golf. It is the national championship of the United States Golf Association.
