Jumping the Blog-Wagon [kinda] My Top 5 Favorite Video Game OST

Well, it seems that I kinda want to deviate from the "Top Favorite Video Game" blogs and come up with my favorite video game OST.

Well here goes nothing, hope you all enjoy it.

#5 - BlazBlue : Calamity Trigger OST

Now I first heard of this game while roaming around forums, one of my friends suggested to look at this upcoming game. Surely, I got it the day it came out and popped this game in. I was truly amazed with everything with this game. The intense fighting action, the depth, the characters, the story. All of these intrigued me, but the thing that intrigued me the most was the soundtrack to this game. The blend of metal with beautiful orchestra, the guitar riffs, solos, violins, the drum and bass felt so entrancing to my ears. I listened to this soundtrack for days in my car and at home. I love metal and I just can't help myself if I listen to the soundtracks over and over again.

BB:CT - Bang Shishigami Theme Song - Gale

BB:CT - Rachel Alucard Theme Song - Queen of Rose

#4 - Megaman 2 OST

Nothing can compare the nostalgia that I get every time I listen to the soundtrack to Megaman 2. This was 8-Bit at it's prime. The hours of grinding through each level, the boss battles, and of course, the theme songs all come into mind when I listen to this game's soundtrack. I remember each grind I had to go through on my precious NES when I listen to these songs, the countless hours spent using my E and defeating Airman and Dr. Wily.

Megaman 2 - Airman Stage

Megaman 2 - I Can't Defeat Airman

#3 - DJ Max Portable Series OST

The first time I ever heard of this game was on G4TV at night and I saw a Korean advertisement for this game. These game was the reason I got a PSP. I really wanted to try an imported game and see what it was the games were like from the far-east that didn't make it here to State side. This game was amazing. Their was almost no song that I did not like playing in this game. Each song and each artist within this game had their own unique styles of songs. To ESTi's melodic techno melodies, to Plantboom's guitar songs, they all made the game the much more fun. The OST for the series are just amazing and I'm am glad that I found a "Diamond in the Rough" game.

DJ Max Portable 2 - Ladymade Star by ESTi

DJ Max Clazziquai Edition - The Clear Blue Sky by Tsukasa

#2 - Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 OST

This game is only for the arcades, but it doesn't mean it doesn't have good music. This game's composer is the legendary Yuzo Koshiro, the composer of the game Act Raiser. This OST always make me my heart go at 330+km/h. Each song has bass, blood-pumping music, they just make me feel like I am going so fast every time I'm in the seat of this game. Each time I am racing, I feel like in my own world filled with just speed and control when I'm in the seat, there's nothing in the world besides the thrill of exhaust and the music. There's just me, the car and the music...

Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 - In Your Dream

WMMT3 - Get You Cornered

WMMT3 - Phantom Of Blue

#1 - Street Fighter Series OST

Nothing in the whole world can stop me from loving each and every stage song within the Street Fighter Universe, nothing. Each soundtrack, each theme song, each voice, each sound, just everything in the Street Fighter OST makes me appreciate music. From Ken's Theme Song in Street Fighter II to Sakura's Theme Song in Street Fighter Alpha 2, there are no Theme song or soundtrack that I dislike about them. Each reminds me of each persona of each character, they make me feel that I can relate to the character in some form or another. I can imagine being Ryu when the SFII stage song comes up to play. I can feel the immense intensity coming from Ryu when I listen to his song. I can imagine being Ken, being the cocky all American Fighter he is when I go to his stage. Street Fighter is my favorite OST out there. And my favorite theme song of all time is:

Street Fighter Alpha 2 - Sakura's Theme Song

Street Fighter II - Ken's Theme Song

Street Fighter IV - Ryu's Theme Song

Honorable Mentions :

Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros, Beatmania, Dance Dance Revolution, The IdolM@ster, Bubble Bobble, IOSYS

I hope you all enjoyed this blog as much as I did! Till' next time.... Sayonara!
